The Marked Heart season 3: Will there be another season on Netflix?

The second season of The Marked Heart is now available to stream on Netflix, and fans dropped everything they were doing to tune in and watch the new episodes. If you’ve made it to the season 2 finale and finished it, you might be wondering if there will be a continuation of the story in a third season. As always, we’ve got you covered. We shared everything we know about a potential The Marked Heart season 3 below.

The Marked Heart is a Colombian Netflix original series created by Leonardo Padrón. After a man’s wife is murdered for her heart, the now widower becomes determined to take down and exact revenge on the organ trafficking organization that did it. But while in the search for revenge, he finds himself falling for the woman who survived because of his wife’s heart.

Michel Brown stars as Simon Duque, the widower hell-bent on getting revenge for his wife’s murder. Additionally, Ana Lucía Domínguez stars as Camila Duarte, the woman who received Simon’s late wife’s heart.

The second season takes place a year and a half later and opens with Camila living in Istanbul after escaping her husband Zacarías. However, her stay ends abruptly when Zacarías discovers she faked her death. So, she flees to Mexico, where she bumps into Simon. But Zacarías refuses to let Camila go and will do everything to win her back. He also wants Simon to suffer for taking Camila away from him and is determined to teach Simon a lesson. Overall, the second season was just as entertaining to watch as the first season, so it comes as no surprise that people are wondering if a third season will happen. Is The Marked Heart season 3 happening?

As of April 20, it’s unknown if there will be a third season because Netflix has not renewed the thriller series. This isn’t necessarily surprising because the second season just recently dropped. Netflix doesn’t typically decide on a show’s fate immediately after a new season comes out. Instead, the streaming giant usually makes an announcement a month or so after a season’s release.

In The Marked Heart‘s case, the streamer renewed the show for a second season only nine days after the first season was released (April 20, 2022). Could this happen again? It’s possible, but our guess is that the thriller series ends with the second season. Why? Well, the second season ends in a way that seems final.

Zacarías is no longer a threat to Camila and Simon because he repents for his wrongdoings by donating his heart to Simon’s daughter. They are now able to freely live their lives without having to look over their shoulders. Although Camila and Simon don’t end up together at the end of the season, I think it’s safe to assume that they will eventually get back together after some time has passed. This doesn’t necessarily have to be shown.

However, it’s important to mention that the second season wasn’t billed as the final season. So if this season fares well on the streamer, we could possibly see an additional installment. We’ll just have to wait and see.
