Now that we’re halfway through 2023, we’re headed into a whole other ballgame with Netflix shows. With a new year comes the return of some of the best Netflix shows and new series. But sadly, it looks like 2023 will be bittersweet for some fans. We might be hearing of even more cancellations by the streamer. This is such a bummer…

We’ve seen the streamer axe tons of Netflix shows throughout the past year. I’m talking about Another LifeGentefiedArchive 81, Warrior Nun, Lockwood & Co.First KillResident EvilFate: The Winx Saga, Sex/Life, Freeridge, and more fan favorites.

However, it hasn’t all been bad. We’ve seen the renewal of shows like The Night Agent, You, That ’90s Show, The Diplomat, The Recruit, FUBAR, and XO, Kitty among others. There’s plenty of more renewals sure to be announced in the remainder of 2023.

While some Netflix shows have already had their fates decided by the middle of 2023, others have yet to be renewed or canceled. As more shows premiere throughout the year, this means more Netflix shows are at risk of ending in 2023. Are you wondering what shows are in the most danger of being canceled by Netflix? Continue reading to find out!

Netflix shows in danger of cancellation: Glamorous

In June 2023, Glamorous premiered on Netflix amid some positive buzz. After all, the romantic comedy series stars Kim Cattrall, and the erstwhile Sex and the City star is worth the cost of admission for most viewers. However, a seeming lack of promotion on Netflix’s part left the series to fend for itself upon premiere, thus banking on word of mouth.

The series stars Miss Benny as Marco Mejia, a makeup vlogger who lands a dream job at makeup mogul Madolyn Addison’s (Kim Cattrall) company. Throughout the 10-episode first season, the series follows Marco’s journey to finding their true self, which includes a love triangle with a co-worker and a “finance bro.”

Unfortunately, when the series premiered, Glamorous landed in eighth place in Netflix’s weekly top 10 with 2.3 million views. In its second week, the show jumped to fourth with 3.5 million views. However, in its third week of release, Glamorous fell out of the ranking completely. That isn’t the best sign for a new series looking to be renewed for season 2.

Right now, it’s looking like Glamorous will likely be canceled based on its viewership figures. Once again, it will be another slap in the face for a series with queer representation that deserved better. Maybe it could land a surprise renewal due to the ongoing writers’ strike causing a stoppage on production as well as new series. We’ll have to wait and see.
