5 most hated Manifest characters, ranked from worst to just pure evil

4. Dr. Gupta

If you asked any Manifester before Manifest season 4 part 1 who the show’s most hated characters are, Dr. Gupta (Mahira Kakkar) probably wouldn’t have made the list. Sure, she was a little rough around the edges as a doctor working at Eureka in season 3, but she was mostly inconsequential to the high stakes and at least displayed empathy and a conscience.

Even though she followed the orders that were given to her, and would rarely budge on breaking from those rules, she’s someone who could be persuaded into changing her mind. No bribes, not bargaining. But by showing her, someone who believes in science, that there are real holes in logic going on with Flight 828, she bends to the necessity of helping the passengers.

However, and this is a massive however, Dr. Gupta hurt all of our feelings in the first half of the final season. Saanvi and Vance rely on Gupta as an ally, in order to get another pair of eyes on their research. While Saanvi believes she’s an ally through and through, Gupta double crosses Saanvi and Vance and storms the Bird’s Nest with a team of Registry officers.

In one fell swoop, Dr. Gupta betrays Saanvi’s trust, turns her into the Registry, and sets back all of her research. Inevitably, all of their research will be apprehended by the Registry. It’s unclear what Gupta gains from this and what consequences Saanvi and Vance will face, but honestly, we’re less interested in seeing how Gupta redeems herself in part 2 than seeing Saanvi get payback.
