Surprisingly, Designated Survivor has entered Netflix’s top 10 TV shows list and is ranked at the No. 8 spot as of April 10. This comes as a surprise because there hasn’t been a new season released on Netflix since 2019. In fact, the political drama ended its run with its third and final season. So, why are tons of people suddenly watching it?

The exact reason is unknown, but our guess is that it has something to do with the new Netflix show everyone’s watching and can’t stop talking about, The Night Agent. The people who finished watching The Night Agent were probably looking for something similar to watch and came across Designated Survivor. The Recruit and Bodyguard are two other similar Netflix shows that have also recently seen an increase in viewership.

All of the shows just listed are great shows to watch to hold you over until The Night Agent season 2 comes out in 2024. So there are 53 episodes in total of the political drama series. If you’re wondering why there is a significant decrease in episodes in the third season compared to seasons 1 and 2, it’s because the first two seasons aired on ABC and the third and final season was picked by Netflix.
