Netflix is adding 16 new movies and shows this week (April 9, 2023)

A new week is here and along with bringing every holiday under the sun, this week also brings a bunch of new movies and shows to Netflix. That includes a new mini-series, a new erotic thriller series, and a new movie based on a popular Netflix show.

First up, Florida Man is hitting Netflix on Thursday, April 13, 2023. The mini-series follows an ex-cop as he returns home to Florida to find a mobster’s girlfriend. He thinks it’s going to be a quick job, but it turns into a chaotic journey.

The series stars Abbey Lee, Edgar Ramírez, Paul Schneider, Clark Gregg, Anthony LaPaglia, Emory Cohen, and Lex Scott Davis.

If Twitter is anything to go by, all my fellow romance fans are very excited for the next big series coming to Netflix this week: Obsession. It may be because Mr. Thorton from North and South AKA Richard Armitage is in it or because it’s possibly one of the sexiest shows to come to Netflix since 365 Days (but maybe with a little less problematic storyline). Whatever the reason, romance fans will definitely be checking out this new erotic thriller.

Obsession and Seven Kings Must Die headed to Netflix this week

Besides Richard Armitage, it stars Charlie Murphy, Indira Varma, and Rish Shah, and follows a father who has an affair with his son’s fiance. But as the title suggests, it gets a lot more dangerous than anyone could have imagined. The series hits Netflix on Thursday, April 13.

If you’re a fan of The Last Kingdom, you’re definitely going to want to check out Seven Kings Must Die. It continues the story from the series and starts with the death of King Edward and follows Uhtred of Bebbanburg and his friends as they try to form a united England. And as the title suggests, people are going to die.

The movie stars Alexander Dreymon, Ingrid Garcia-Jonsson, Elaine Cassidy, Timothy Innes, Arnas Fedaravičius, Mark Rowley, James Northcote, and Ewan Horrocks. It comes to Netflix on Friday, April 14.
