Unseen season 2: Will there be another season on Netflix?

The six-part thriller series Unseen was released on Netflix on March 29, and many people tuned in to watch it to see what it was all about. Well, it looks like a lot of people enjoyed the new series because now they’re wondering if a second season will be released in the future. Of course, you can count on us to share all there is to know about a potential Unseen season 2.

Unseen is a South African Netflix original created by Travis Taute and Daryne Joshua. It tells the story of Zenzi Mwale, a cleaning lady whose life is turned upside down when her husband goes missing after being released from prison. On the search to track him down, Zenzi uncovers a huge conspiracy involving violent criminals and a corrupt bank.

Blood & Water‘s Gail Mabalane stars in the leading role of Zenzi Mwale. The rest of the cast comprises Vuyo Dabula, Brendon Daniels, Hein de Vries, Ilse Klink, Mothusi Magano, and many others.

Will there be an Unseen season 2?

It’s unknown at the moment. As of April 3, Netflix has not announced if the thriller series will return with a second installment. However, if you were wondering about the chances of the show being renewed, we’d say it’s not likely.

Unseen is an adaptation of the Turkish Netflix series Fatma, which only had one season. Since the original series only had one season, the South African version will likely follow suit.

However, there could be an Unseen season 2 based on how the first season ended. While Fatma and Unseen have similar endings, Unseen ends with Zenzi about to jump off a building, but we never see her actually jump. The writers could’ve purposely ended the first season like this to set up a second season. But at the same time, this could’ve just been how the writers wanted to end the show to make it slightly different from the original series.

In Fatma, the first season ends with the protagonist attempting to commit suicide by jumping off a building, but in the last couple of seconds, we find out she survived the fall. While this could’ve been the perfect setup for a second season, a second season didn’t end up happening. So, our guess is that Unseen is another one-and-done type of series like the original.
