Triptych was released on Netflix on Feb. 22, so it’s been on the streamer for quite some time. Most people have already watched the complete first season by now and are left wondering if new episodes will be coming soon. Fortunately, you have us to share all there is to know about a potential Triptych season 2.

Triptych is a new Mexican thriller series created by Leticia López Margalli. It’s believed to have been inspired by the true story of a set of triplets (Eddy Galland, David Kellman, and Bobby Shafran) who were separated at birth and then found each other in adulthood.

Dark Desire’s Maite Perroni stars in the leading role of forensic agent Rebecca. After investigating a murder, Rebecca notices that the victim looks just like her and knows her name. This leads her on a dangerous journey to uncover the truth behind her own identity.

David Chocarro, Flavio Medina, Nuria Bages, Ofelia Medina, Ana Layevska, Claudia Lobo, Aldo Gallardo, and Daniella Valdez are also in the cast.

Will there be a Triptych season 2?

As of March 17, Netflix has not announced whether the show will be back for a second season. This isn’t surprising because Netflix doesn’t typically renew its new shows as soon as they drop. The streaming giant will want to see if people are really watching and enjoying the first season before making a decision.

Typically, Netflix looks at how many people view a show in its first 28 days on the platform. Looking at the viewing hours from the first month helps the streamer decide whether to renew or cancel a show. Basically, if the viewing hours from the first month are high, Netflix is more likely to renew the show. But if the viewing hours are considered low to Netflix’s standards, Triptych will most likely get the boot. Unfortunately, it will probably be a month or so wait before Netflix announces what it wants to do with the series.

But if you were wondering what the chances are of a Triptych season 2 happening, we’d say the show will not likely return with new episodes. Why? Well, the first season pretty much answers all the burning questions and doesn’t really leave any loose ends. I mean, there are some things that can be explored in a second season, such as going deeper into Dr. Batiz’s experiments and the other test subjects. But the show could really end with the first season. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what Netflix decides.

We’ll keep you updated on the show’s renewal status, so stay tuned to Netflix Life!
