Between You returning with its fourth season and the release of highly-anticipated movies like Gal Gadot’s Heart of Stone and Jennifer Lopez’s The Mother, Netflix has tons of exciting, suspenseful thrillers on deck for 2023.

There are many Netflix thrillers in production at the streaming service, but most don’t have air dates yet, so this list focuses on the projects that either already have release dates, are confirmed to release sometime in 2023, or have the strongest likelihood of coming out this year.

You season 4

One of the most anticipated returning Netflix thrillers in 2023 is You. Fans are dying to see what serial killer Joe Goldberg (Penn Badgely) gets up to next, especially now that Love (Victoria Pedretti) is dead and Joe has moved to Paris, taking on yet another new identity as he searches for Tati Gabrielle’s Marianne. Netflix has opted to use the batch approach for this show, so the first five episodes of season 4 will release on Feb. 9, followed by the remainder of the season one month later on Mar. 9.

Red Rose

Red Rose is an upcoming British teen thriller series following a group of high schoolers who become obsessed with the mysterious Red Rose app. Appearing on their smartphone, the Red Rose app demands each user complete dangerous tasks or suffer the consequences.

The series will explore the connection between teens and their phones as well as the seductive power of the dark web. Perfect for fans of Nerve, Black Mirror, and Squid Game, Red Rose actually premiered already in 2022 on BBC but will be released on Netflix in 2023. What’s On Netflix reports that the show will stream on Feb. 15.

The Snow Girl

This dark Spanish thriller is about a young girl who goes missing during a parade and the investigator who is determined to help her parents find their lost daughter. The Snow Girl begins streaming on Jan. 27.

Triptych

Imagine waking up one day and discovering that you are actually one of three identical triplets. That’s what happens to the protagonist of Triptych, an upcoming Mexican thriller series. Netflix has not announced a release date for this show yet, but What’s On Netflix has reported that it will stream on Feb. 22.

Heart of Stone

Wonder Woman herself Gal Gadot stars in this spy thriller about a CIA agent (Gadot) who is the only person standing between her peace-keeping organization and the loss of one of its most dangerous assets. Jamie Dornan and Sophie Okonedo also star. We don’t have a release date yet for this movie, but it’s probably going to be released sometime this summer.

The Mother

Jennifer Lopez is a deadly assassin and desperate mother who must come out of hiding to protect the daughter she gave up years before when it becomes apparent that she’s in danger. The Mother is set for release sometime this year. Stay tuned to Netflix Life for more updates.

Arbor Hall

Arbor Hall is a teen thriller series about a girl who investigates her school after one of her friends goes missing and uncovers dark secrets. It’s the first series in development as part of Kalinda Vasquez’s overall deal with Netflix. I’m not entirely sure if this show is coming out in 2023, but it seems like there is a good chance it will since it went into development in 2022.

Confessions on the 7:45

Jessica Alba will star in this adaptation of the bestselling Lisa Unger book of the same name. Alba plays a working mom who finds herself derailed after she meets a mysterious stranger on a commuter train.

The Killer

David Fincher is back with another Netflix project, although unfortunately, it’s not a third season of Mindhunter. This time, Fincher is directing an exciting neo-noir action thriller starring Tilda Swinton and Michael Fassbender. The Killer is based on the French graphic novel series of the same name by Alexis Nolent and follows an assassin.
