Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Another beautiful March weekend is upon us, and it’s time to look ahead to the Netflix movies you could be watching this weekend. If you’re looking for something more themed to the holiday, I recommend checking out our list of Irish movies to watch on Netflix.

But if you’re open to a mixture of genres, then this is the right list for you. Netflix has added several older movies to its catalog this week, including Vin Diesel’s sci-fi franchise The Chronicles of Riddick and the Kick-Ass sequel. Additionally, a couple of new movies have also been released this week, such as a heartwarming animated movie called The Magician’s Elephant.

Find out which Netflix movies you should watch and which ones are okay to skip!

Best Netflix movies to watch this weekend

Keep reading for an assortment of Netflix movies to watch this weekend.

The Chronicles of Riddick movies

Watch! All three of The Chronicles of Riddick movies have been added to Netflix! For action-packed sci-fi, these are entertaining films to watch. Vin Diesel stars as a galactic fugitive who must face off against ruthless bounty hunters and ferocious alien predators. There is a fourth Riddick movie on the way, so now is a great time to watch them all to ensure you’re all caught up.

Kick-Ass 2

Skip! While the 2010 film Kick-Ass starring Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Chloë Grace Moretz, is a fun black comedy and inventive spin on the superhero genre, unfortunately, the sequel film cannot live up to its predecessor.  So even though Netflix just added this one, I’d vote for going back to the original instead.

Noise

Watch! Noise is a new Belgian thriller following a man who relocates his family to his ancestral home and, while there, begins investigating a local factory accident, uncovering dark secrets related to his father.

Morbius

Skip! With the highly-anticipated Shazam sequel Fury of the Gods releasing in theaters this weekend, you might be curious as to what “superhero” movies Netflix has available. A Sony Marvel film, Morbius is streaming on the platform, but it was critically reviled and became a joke on the internet almost the second it premiered. Unless you want to watch it to understand the memes, Morbius is better skipped.

The Magician’s Elephant

Watch! If you’re looking for a movie to watch with your entire family (children included), then this heartfelt animated tale should be the perfect fit. Wonder star Noah Jupe voices an orphaned boy named Peter who sets out to find his long-lost sister by searching for the magician’s elephant after getting a clue from a mysterious woman. The film is based on the acclaimed children’s novel by Kate DiCamillo.
