Shadow and Bone season 2 cast: Who’s in the Netflix show?

Shadow and Bone season 2 will feature all of our returning favorites! But with a new season usually comes new characters. And there are some awesome characters introduced in season 2. Fans of the books are more than familiar with them. But if you’re a show-first fan, believe me when I say they will become favorites for you too!

At the end of season 1, we left with General Kirigan, aka The Darkling, extending the Fold and somehow making it out alive. But if the trailer is anything to go by, he didn’t get out unscathed and now carries visible scars on his face. None of that matters, though, because, as the Netflix synopsis shares, Kirigan has “a terrifying new army of seemingly indestructible shadow monsters and fearsome new Grisha recruits” to act at his behest.

Because of this, Alina and Mal are on a mission to find the two remaining amplifiers to become powerful enough to take down the Darkling and The Fold that’s separated and terrorized the country for so long. In Ketterdam, the Crows return home, but they’ll be facing old rivals and making new alliances. And eventually, they may cross paths with the Sun Summoner once more.

Patrick Gibson plays two roles, in a way, in Shadow and Bone season 2! When we first meet the new character, he’s Sturmhond, a privateer making deals and building trust to help Ravka. But his real identity is Prince Nikolai, the youngest son of Ravka’s king and queen. The Irish actor is known for appearing on The Tudors, The White Princess, and Netflix’s The OA.

Lewis Tan takes on the role of Tolya, a Heartrender Grisha from Shu Han who is a part of Sturmhond’s crew. The lover of poetry has a twin sister, Tamar, on the ship with him. The 36-year-old English actor is known for his roles as Lu Xin Lee in Netflix’s Wu Assassins, Shatterstar in Deadpool 2, and Cole Young in Mortal Kombat.

Playing his lovely and equally strong twin sister is Anna Leong Brophy! Her character, Tamar, is also a Heartrender who is always up for an adventure and some danger. Her weapon of choice? Her dual axes! In addition to being an actress—appearing in the British soap opera EastEnders before the Netflix series—Brophy is also a comedian!

And finally, Wolfe plays a fan-favorite from the books – Wylan! The sensitive but intelligent alchemist knows a thing or two about explosives, which is why he becomes the Crows’ demolition expert this season. Plus, the chemistry between him and Jesper may be bubbling as well. The actor is known more for his stage work with theatre companies like the Royal Shakespeare Company. His feature film debut was in the 2022 movie The Magic Flute.
