5 Netflix shows that definitely won’t be back in 2023

The Umbrella Academy season 4

The Umbrella Academy was officially renewed for a fourth and final season on Aug. 25, and fans are excited to see how the show will come to a close. However, it’ll likely be a while before the new season comes out. The most recent update on the fourth season was about production starting. On Feb. 6, Netflix announced that filming had commenced on the fourth season. This wasn’t surprising because there were rumors production would start sometime in February. However, it’s nice to know things are finally in motion.

But the bad news is there’s a low chance that The Umbrella Academy season 4 will be released in 2023. According to What’s on Netflix, production is expected to run through to May 19. Once production wraps up, the new episodes should immediately enter post-production where they will spend the most time. For previous seasons, post-production lasted about seven to 10 months.

However, it’s worth mentioning that previous seasons consisted of 10 episodes. The fourth season will only have six episodes. Since there are fewer episodes, this could cut down the amount of time spent in post-production, making a 2023 release possible. However, since The Umbrella Academy is a special effects-heavy show, the post-production process may still be lengthy, pushing the release to 2024.
