Bounce TV sitcom Act Your Age set for a May 2024 release on Netflix

When Act Your Age starring Kym Whitley and Tisha Campbell premiered on Bounce TV back in March 2023 with its first two episodes, it had been reported that 2.14 million people watched the new comedy sitcom. With this comedic duo, it didn't come as a surprise that tons of people tuned in to watch. But unfortunately, the show didn't end up faring well overall, and Bounce TV decided to axe it after only one season. Now, we've just received word that the first season will be coming to Netflix soon. How soon? In a month! Yes, you read that right. Act Your Age season 1 will be landing on Netflix this May. We shared the Netflix release date and more below.

Act Your Age was created by Alyson Fouse. She also served as the showrunner and executive producer. In addition, Fouse is best known for her previous work on the TV shows The Neighborhood, Everybody Hates Chris and The Wanda Sykes Show.

The comedy sitcom is about three successful childhood friends from the DMV area who are each at a personal crossroads and are trying to figure out how to adjust to life in their 50s. Whitley plays the role of Bernadette, a real estate developer, and Campbell portrays the role of Keisha. Yvette Nicole Brown plays the third person in the friend group. Her character’s name is Angela.

Besides Whitley, Campbell, and Brown, the rest of the main cast includes Mariah Robinson (Olivia) and Nathan Anderson (Jacob).

When is Act Your Age coming to Netflix?

Get ready because all 16 episodes of Act Your Age season 1 are slated to land on Netflix on Wednesday, May 22, 2024! The complete first season will likely be released on the streaming platform at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET on this date since that's when Netflix typically releases new content. If you're in the Central time zone, you're looking at a release time of 2:00 a.m. CT on May 22.

Now, if you really want to watch this show and can't wait until its Netflix release, you have the option of subscribing to the streaming service Brown Sugar. That's where Act Your Age is currently streaming. The streamer offers a one-week free trial, but once it's up, you'll be automatically subscribed to its monthly plan which is $3.99/mo.
