On Feb. 18, Netflix announced that Outer Banks would be returning with a fourth season! No, you did not read that wrong. We haven’t seen the last of the Pogues and the adventures they embark on because an Outer Banks season 4 is officially in the works at Netflix. This is such good news to hear right before the new season comes out.

Now, let’s discuss Outer Banks season 3. When does it come out and at what time? How many episodes can you expect to hit your Netflix account? As always, we’ve got the answers. Below, we shared the release date, release time, episode count, and much more.

When does Outer Banks season 3 come out?

The third season will arrive on Netflix on Thursday, February 23, 2023. Fortunately, the complete season will drop on this date instead of being split into parts as we’ve seen with other Netflix shows.

What time is Outer Banks season 3 coming out?

You can expect the third season to land on Netflix on Feb. 23 at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET. Of course, these times only apply to people living on the West Coast and East Coast of the United States. If you’re in the Central time zone, you’re looking at a release time of 2:00 a.m. CT on Feb. 23.

Outer Banks season 2 ending (recap)

Outer Banks season 2 ends with the Pogues losing the Cross of Santo Domingo to Ward and Rafe. Now the Camerons have the cross and sunken treasure in their possession. The Pogues escape the ship on a small boat and arrive on a deserted island they decide to name “Poguelandia.” Meanwhile, Rafe promises a wounded Ward that he’ll avenge him and bring Sarah back. The last scene before the final episode cuts to the credits shows Carla Limbrey meeting with a mysterious man who is revealed to be Big John. Big John tells Carla that he’ll help her find the shroud if she helps him find his son (John B).

What is Outer Banks season 3 about?

The third season opens with the Pogues seemingly living the good life on Poguelandia. However, we all know they won’t stay on this deserted island for long not when treasure is involved.

Eventually, the Pogues somehow get entangled with Carlos Singh, a Caribbean Don who believes they can help him find El Dorado, a city of gold. However, Singh is a ruthless leader who will stop at nothing to get what he wants. So this isn’t the type of man the Pogues want to be involved with. To make matters worse, Ward and Rafe are still out for revenge. With no money and no allies, the Pogues realize they must stick together once again to get themselves out of trouble.

Here’s the official synopsis via Netflix Media Center:

"After losing the gold and fleeing the Outer Banks, Season 3 finds the Pogues washed ashore on a desert island that, for a brief moment, seems like an idyllic home. Officially deemed “Poguelandia,” the island’s newest residents spend their days fishing, swimming, and reveling in the carefree lifestyle of their temporary dwelling. But things quickly go south for John B, Sarah, Kiara, Pope, JJ, and Cleo when they find themselves once again caught up in a race for the treasure, quite literally running for their lives. They’re broke and far from home, they can’t trust anyone, Ward and Rafe are hungry for revenge, and there’s a ruthless Caribbean Don who will stop at nothing to find the bounty. Was the treasure ever within their reach? Or was it all a trap to stop them once and for all? Either way, it’s the Pogues against the world – and the only way out is together."

Outer Banks season 4 release updates

As we mentioned earlier, Outer Banks will be back with a fourth season on Netflix. However, we do not have a release date yet. It’ll likely be a while before the streaming giant announces a release date since it’s still early on in the filmmaking process. But at the moment, our best release prediction for the fourth season would be sometime in 2024. Once production gets started, we should have a better idea of when the fourth season could come out. And of course, you can count on us to share the official release date once it’s announced.
