Love to Hate You season 2: Will there be another season of the Korean rom-com?

On Feb. 10, Netflix dropped the Korean rom-com Love to Hate You on its platform and many people tuned in instantly to see what it was about. Since the show has been out for a while, most people have already made it through the entire first season and are now wondering about a second installment. Luckily, you’ve come to the right place for this information because we shared all there is to know about a potential Love to Hate You season 2.

Love to Hate You is a South Korean Netflix original directed by Kim Jeong-kwon from scripts written by Choi Soo-young. Additionally, Bingo Works produced the series.

It tells the love story between a rookie lawyer who isn’t interested in any romantic relationship and despises losing to men and an A-list actor in Korea who mistrusts women. However, when the two are forced to date each other and start to feel a romantic attraction, they realize there is a thin line between love and hate.

The amazing cast includes Kim Ok-vin (Yeo Mi-ran), Teo Yoo (Nam Kang-ho), Kim Ji-hun (Do Won-jun), Go Won-hee (Shin Na-eun), and many others.

Will there be a Love to Hate You season 2?

As of Feb. 14, Netflix has not announced whether there will be a second season of the Korean romantic comedy. Since the show just recently came out, it’s going to be a while before Netflix makes a decision. It typically takes a month or so before the streaming giant comes to a decision.

However, if you’re wondering about the chances of the show coming back, I would say the chances are pretty low. Why? Well, most Korean dramas are made up of only one season. It’s not often that K-Dramas return with an additional season. Also, the first season of Love to Hate You tells a complete story, so a second season wouldn’t really be necessary.

However, if the show fares well on Netflix, there’s a chance Netflix could order an additional installment. Although Yeo Mi-ran and Nam Kang-ho’s story seemed to be told entirely in the first season, in a potential Love to Hate You season 2, we could see them living as a couple. Remember, Nam Kang-ho wants to get married and have two kids, while Yeo Mi-ran doesn’t see those things in her future. A second season could show how they work through these obstacles in their new relationship. We could also see more of the side characters’ stories.

But even though we would love to see a Love to Hate You season 2, we believe this will be a one-and-done series. Maybe we’ll be proven wrong, but only time will tell.
