Penn Badgley praises former You co-star Jenna Ortega: “She’s so talented”

Jenna Ortega was just 17 years old when she starred in You season 2. In the Netflix original series, Ortega starred as Ellie Alves, the younger sister of Joe Goldberg’s landlord, Delilah, and it’s safe to say that ever since the world met Ortega and saw how charismatic and talented she is, they were in love with her ever since.

Flash forward a few years later, Jenna Ortega is a superstar that everyone knows and loves. But no one loves Ortega more than her former co-star, Penn Badgley.

Why Penn Badgley is proud of Jenna Ortega

During a sitdown with MTV UK, Penn Badgley doted on Jenna Ortega and how he’s a huge fan of how far she’s come. When asked about how he feels about his former co-star (and if he’s ever seen her new show, Wednesday), Badgley stated:

"I haven’t seen Wednesday. I have two kids and two dogs. The only thing I watch is The Voice. That’s the only thing I watched with family. I have no time for anything else. I haven’t even seen all the episodes of my own show (You)! So, I have not seen Wednesday, but I’m super happy for Jenna. She’s so talented and deserves it. We couldn’t get her on the podcast anymore, I bet you. She’s so big!"

Jenna Ortega may be too big of a deal to return to Badgley’s podcast, Podcrushed. But is she too famous to return to her previous Netflix gig?

Will Jenna Ortega be in You season 4 part 2?

While we would love to see Ortega return to You to possibly get some revenge on Joe Goldberg, it’s more than likely that Ortega will not return to the Netflix original series in the near future.

Not only is the 20-year-old actress booked and busy with her many roles in titles such as Scream VI, and Miller’s Girl but she is also rather preoccupied with the success of Wednesday, a show that will, hopefully, run on for many more seasons. All in all, Ortega is on the rise and may not exactly have time to return to You. Or so we think.

Of course, we can never say never, as Sera Gamble (You showrunner) seems to already have a few ideas up her sleeve should Jenna Ortega’s schedule allow for the return of Ellie.

“We wanted to bring Ellie back and we heard, ‘Oh, Jenna is doing some show,” Gamble told Indie Wire. “It’s been just such a pleasure to see Jenna this year. We have ideas for Ellie if her schedule allows her to visit us again.”
