A new week is here and besides Valentine’s Day, this week also brings a bunch of new movies and shows to Netflix. The new additions include a new documentary series about African queens, a new historical drama from Italy, and a new season of a Netflix comedy.

African Queens: Njinga hits Netflix on Wednesday, Feb. 15, 2023. The documentary series is produced and narrated by Jada Pinkett-Smith and covers iconic African Queens. In this first season, the show covers Njinga, a 17th-century warrior queen of Ndongo and Matamba.

She was the first female ruler in Africa, and she became known as a leader of the resistance at the time, and for her skills in diplomacy, her military prowess, and her political ingenuity.

Netflix also brings The Law According to Lidia Poët on Wednesday, Feb. 15. The historical drama is based on the real-life story of Lidia Poët, Italy’s first female lawyer. She is forbidden from practicing law because of her gender, but she fights for her right to follow her dreams.

The series stars Sara Lazarro, Matilda De Angelis, Nicolo Pasetti, Eduardo Scarpetta, Pier Luigi Pasino, Sinead Thornhill, and Dario Alta.

In part 3, we will see what ends up happening to Bennie and Lucretia. At the end of part 2, they were headed to jail.

We’ll also see how Regina and the family are holding up since she quit her job, how Bernard Jr. is continuing to figure out parenthood, and if Aaliyah is still trying to be the most popular at her school.
