Reese Witherspoon and Ashton Kutcher are back in the new Netflix original romantic comedy film Your Place or Mine, and that’s surely music to the ears of rom-com fans. It’s the first team-up for the genre vets, who have been making headlines with their friendship.

In Your Place or Mine, Witherspoon plays Debbie, a single mother looking to complete a career-advancing course in New York City. She swaps homes with Peter (Kutcher), her best friend of 20 years, as he holds down her fort in Los Angeles with her young son.

Obviously, Debbie and Peter’s time walking a mile in each other’s shoes will give them a new perspective on their lives and on each other. Just like with every romantic comedy, you can’t help but root for Debbie and Peter to get everything they want.

But everything the viewers of Your Place or Mine will want is the list of catchy songs featured in the movie. Without further ado, here’s the full lineup of music you have to add to your playlist right now!

What year was The Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani released?

Your Place or Mine opens with a flashback to 2003, when Debbie and Peter first hooked up then became friends. The opening scene features the song “The Sweet Escape” by Gwen Stefani featuring Akon, but the song wasn’t released in the year it’s representing.

Stefani released “The Sweet Escape” in December 2006, when the album of the same name was released, too. It’s not a huge hiccup, but for pop music fans with a good ear, you’ll realize that Stefani hadn’t released the hit song just yet. In fact, the former No Doubt frontwoman hadn’t released any solo music until 2004.
