Is the Sundry House from You season 4 a real place?

You is a popular Netflix thriller that follows the life of Joe Goldberg, a serial killer with a troubled past. The show, based on Caroline Kepnes’ book series, follows Joe’s intense and violent relationships with the people in his life, particularly the women he becomes obsessed with.

The Penn Badgley-led series has gained a big following due to its captivating plot and its exploration of the dark side of relationships. It has received praise not only for its unpredictable storylines but also for its complex characters. With all of that said, it’s no surprise that You is now onto its fourth season, with the first five episodes of the new installment debuting on Netflix early this morning.

You season 4 is broken up into two parts, with the first five episodes out today and the second batch releasing one month from now on Thursday, March 9. This time around, Joe is in a totally new environment again as he flees California and is now living in London, England. He goes by the name Jonathan Moore now, posing as a university professor. Though he tries his best to stay out of trouble now that he’s in hiding after faking his own death in season 3, he isn’t successful.

Joe gets caught up in a wealthy, exclusive crowd after spending time with his colleague Malcolm in the first episode, and this group is extremely insufferable to him. But even though he hates being around them, a murder early on in the season ties him to them. He must figure out what happened, and who the mystery texter sending him messages is.

What is the Sundry House in You season 4?

The main location where Malcolm’s friend group — which consists of characters like Kate, Phoebe, Adam, and others — hangs out at is called Sundry House, a swanky club that seems to be members-only. While Sundry House is a fictional location, there are many places just like it that You might’ve taken inspiration from. Soho House, for instance, was founded in London, England in 1995 and now has over 25 locations worldwide. It’s a very similar social club with a focus on creative professionals such as artists or writers.

Other members-only clubs around the world include Dumbo House in Brooklyn, New York, The Reading House in San Diego, California, Carlyle & Co. in Hong Kong, China, the Monte Carlo in Monaco, The Tanglin Club in Singapore, and many, many more.

So while Lady Phoebe’s go-to spot in You season 4 is made-up for the show, there are plenty of locations across the globe pretty similar to it, whether that interests you or not.
