Netflix is adding 37 new movies and shows this week (Jan. 29, 2023)

A new week is here and with it comes February. Where did January go? But beyond the start of a new month, this week also brings a bunch of new movies and shows to Netflix. Everything from a new documentary to a baking show to a well-known epic trilogy is coming to the streaming service this week.

Pamela, a Love Story is one of the first big movies coming to Netflix this week. The documentary will hit your queue on Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2023 and is the first doc about Pamela Anderson that has actually been approved by the actress. It features archival footage that has never been seen before and sections from her personal journals.

More in the mood for a baking show? Season 6 of The Great British Baking Show: The Professionals hits Netflix on Wednesday, Feb. 1, and instead of featuring amateurs, this series features teams of two baking professionals from the UK who must compete against each other to see who comes out on top. It’s hosted by Liam Charles and Tom Allen and the judges include Cherish Finden and Benoit Blin.

Looking to binge-watch a whole trilogy? You’re in luck because the whole Lord of the Rings trilogy comes to Netflix on Wednesday, Feb. 1. The Fellowship of the Ring, The Two Towers, and The Return of the King will all be available. If you haven’t seen all the movies or you want to do your annual rewatch, this is the perfect time to follow Frodo, Sam, and the rest of the Fellowship as they make their way to Mordor to destroy “the one ring to rule them all.”
