They Both Die at the End series coming to Netflix (from Bridgerton creator and Bad Bunny!)

Now this is a creative duo we didn’t see coming! Showrunner of Netflix hit Bridgerton‘s first two seasons Chris Van Dusen and Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny are at the helm of a new Netflix Original series. They Both Die at the End, a massively popular book, is being adapted by the streamer, Deadline reports.

The young adults novel is written by author Adam Silvera. It’s made the No. 1 New York Times bestselling list and gained additional popularity on TikTok. We all know just how successful Bridgerton has been, as it was the most watched English-language television series on Netflix during the season 2 opening weekend. So with Van Dusen leading, we know we’re in very good hands!

Van Dusen is penning the script for the first episode, as well as executive producing, according to Deadline. No other details like a release date or casting news have been shared as it seems like the project is still in its beginning stages.

What is They Both Die at the End about?

We don’t have the synopsis of the series yet, and we don’t know how closely the show will choose to follow the book. But since this is an adaptation of a tale that already exists, we have some idea of what to expect.

According to Goodreads, the story follows Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio. On Sept. 5, the two receive the news that they will die today when Death-Cast calls. So what would someone do in that situation? For Mateo and Rufus, they are looking to make a new friend on their last day. And they’re able to do that through an app, Last Friend, the connects the two strangers. The two meet up “for one last great adventure.”
