And to make matters worse, she struggles to cope with her parents’ divorce. Although this doesn’t give her the right to be cruel, it helps viewers understand why she acts the way she does.

But things don’t end well for Abby in the season 1 finale. After Max discovers that Abby knew about Ginny and Marcus hooking up and didn’t tell her, she decides that she wants nothing to do with her.
