Who was sent home on The Circle this week? (season 5, episodes 5-8)

Wednesday has arrived and with it has come a new batch of episodes of The Circle season 5! Today, episodes 5, 6, 7, and 8 of the season arrived and the new episodes definitely bring a wave of unexpected curveballs!

Across the new episodes, three new players join The Circle including a very familiar face. We’re talking about Shubham “Shooby” Goel, whose arrival was teased last week with the release of the first episodes of the season. Shooby’s arrival quickly shakes up the game, just not in the way we were expecting.

Of course, this week’s episodes also bring a series of shocking eliminations as additional players find themselves blocked from The Circle. Who exactly ends up on the chopping block? Let’s take a look!

Who goes home on The Circle this week?

As this week’s batch of episodes begins, two new players enter The Circle with the arrival of Shooby and Tashia who both enter the game as catfish. In his return, Shooby is forced to play as Sasha rather than re-entering The Circle as himself. Meanwhile, Tashia chooses to enter The Circle as Tamira in hopes of fooling the contestants with a strategic plan.

Upon entering The Circle, Sasha aka Shooby and Tamira aka Tashia are immediately pitted against one another in a twist unlike anything we’ve seen before. Both players have a secret mission of trying to make immediate connections in order to gain the most followers. When put to a vote, Tamira gets the win with Sam, Tom, Marvin, Chaz, and Raven all following her.

Via the twist, Bruno and Jennifer find themselves in jeopardy when it is revealed that Shooby must choose which of his followers to block. After weighing his choices, Shooby chooses to block Bruno aka Billie-Jean.

Before the dust has even settled on Bruno’s elimination, Oliver enters the game in episode 7 and becomes the final player to join the competition this season. Upon his arrival, alliances begin to shift as new bonds are formed and others become fractured leading up to the only rankings of the episode.

After a vote in episode 8, Chaz and Tom emerge as Influencers and must choose who to block. After carefully weighing their odds, the pair decide to block newcomer Sasha aka Shooby leading to his elimination from the game.

And while Shooby left almost as quickly as he arrived, he does get one parting gift as the episode comes to an end when it’s revealed he’ll get to give one player a special power — a power he bestows upon Jennifer as the episode ends!

The Circle is streaming now on Netflix! New episodes of season 5 will drop every Wednesday through Jan. 18
