Freeridge release date, cast, synopsis, photos, and more

A spinoff series of On My Block called Freeridge is coming to Netflix in 2023, and we’re so excited about its release! We might have said goodbye to the core four in On My Block season 4, but we’ll be saying hello to a new core four in Freeridge.

There were definitely some tears shed after watching On My Block‘s series finale, but we quickly wiped our tears when we remembered that this isn’t the true end to the hit teen series. Instead, we have the spinoff to look forward to, and if it’s based in the same world as On My Block, it’s bound to be just as good!

So much information has been released about the upcoming teen series, and we shared it all below.

Mark your calendar and set your alarm because Freeridge arrives on Netflix on Thursday, Feb. 2, 2023, at 12:00 a.m. PT/3:00 a.m. ET.

Freeridge cast

The new core four is made up of Keyla Monterroso Mejia (Gloria), Bryana Salaz (Ines), Tenzing Norgay Trainor (Cam), and Ciara Riley Wilson (Demi). In addition, Peggy Blow will return in a new regular role with Paula Garcés (Geny Martinez), Eric Gutierrez (Ruben Martinez), Eme Ikwuakor (Dwayne Turner), and Raushanah Simmons (Mrs. Turner) reprising their roles from On My Block.

More of the cast includes Zaire Adams (Andre), Michael Solomon (Rusty), and JR Villarreal (Tonio).

Freeridge synopsis

Here’s what the teen series will be about via the Netflix press release:

"Freeridge is a coming of age comedy following sibling rivals Gloria and Ines and their friends Demi and Cameron who have unleashed a curse bringing dark misfortune into their lives. There’s a new core four in town in this On My Block spinoff series and an unforgettable adventure to be had."

We’re not sure if gangs will play a huge part in the spinoff, but we expect them to make an appearance because gang activity is very prevalent in Freeridge. There is no Freeridge without gangs.

We’re still waiting on the official trailer. Netflix will most likely release it sometime in January. You can count on us to share it once it’s released.
