Can you believe it’s almost time for fall again? Given there are only a few months left of the year, it’s time to take a look at some of the best Netflix movies still to come in 2023.

The streaming service has a stacked lineup of Netflix movies on the way in the coming months, featuring A-list stars like Annette Bening, Julia Roberts, Jodie Foster, Mahershala Ali, Benicio del Toro, Bradley Cooper, Natalie Portman, Julianne Moore, and more!

Already this year, we’ve seen films like They Cloned Tyrone, Extraction 2, Your Place or Mine, The Pale Blue Eye, and You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, but there is so much more to come.

While Netflix is probably better known for its original series, it’s fun to relax with new Netflix movies from time to time. So grab the popcorn and look at some of the Netflix movies we are most excited to see throughout the rest of 2023.

UPDATE: On July 31, What’s On Netflix revealed that six Netflix films have been pushed back to 2024 and no longer appear to be on the calendar for 2023.

Those films include:

  • Damsel starring Millie Bobby Brown
  • A Family Affair starring Zac Efron and Nicole Kidman
  • Lift starring Kevin Hart (now premiering on January 12, 2024)
  • Players starring Tom Ellis and Gina Rodriguez
  • Shirley starring Regina King
  • Spaceman starring Adam Sandler

Best Netflix movies coming in 2023

Between a new drama film starring Bradley Cooper, David Fincher’s latest thriller, a buzzy drama starring Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman, and an epic sci-fi adventure from Zack Snyder, Netflix has tons of great movies in store for subscribers this year.

Love at First Sight, September 15

Based on the young adult novel The Statistical Odds of Love at First Sight by Jennifer E. Smith, Love At First Sight stars Haley Lu Richardson (The White Lotus) and Ben Hardy (Bohemian Rhapsody) as romantic interests in this sweet new romance.

Richardson plays the spunky American, Hadley, while Hardy is an ambitious statistics major from the UK. On their flight from New York to London, Hadley and Oliver fall for each other, but when they lose track of one another at customs, the probability of them ever crossing paths again seems impossible. But maybe destiny is on their side. Jameela Jamil of The Good Place and She-Hulk fame narrates.

Reptile, September 29

Alicia Silverstone, Benicio Del Toro, and Justin Timberlake star in this neo-noir crime thriller about the suspicious death of a real estate agent. Del Toro plays a hardened detective who finds that nothing in this case is as it seems.

Pain Hustlers, October 27

Chris Evans and Emily Blunt star in this exciting conspiracy drama film about a failing pharmaceutical startup. Blunt plays a woman who loses her job and goes to work at the startup, only to learn that it’s part of an elaborate racketeering scheme. Catherine O’Hara, Jay Duplass, Andy Garcia, Brian D’Arcy James, and Chloe Coleman also star.

The Killer, November 10

David Fincher’s upcoming thriller The Killer is easily one of the most-anticipated Netflix movies of the year. Starring Michael Fassbender and Tilda Swinton, The Killer follows a methodical killer waiting for his next target. But the longer he waits, the more he thinks he’s losing his mind.

May December, December 1

Oscar-winning actresses Julianne Moore and Natalie Portman star in Todd Haynes’ latest film May December about the side-eye-worthy relationship between a teacher, Gracie Atherton-Yoo (Moore), and her husband, Joe Yoo (Riverdale‘s Charles Melton). While still in school, Gracie seduced an underage Joe, and their relationship caused a media storm, with Gracie even serving time in jail.

Fast-forward two decades, and a Hollywood movie is being made about the controversial couple with Portman’s character, in-universe actress Elizabeth Berry, set to play Gracie in the film. She travels to their town to study the pair and learn more about them, which makes Joe begin reassessing his past trauma. May December will premiere in theaters first on November 17 before coming to Netflix on December 1.

Rebel Moon, December 22

Rebel Moon is one of Netflix’s biggest movies being released this year. The new film from director Zack Snyder is touted as an epic space opera about a peaceful colony on the galaxy’s edge that must dispatch a mysterious woman named Kora to seek help from other planets when a terrifying army threatens them. The cast includes  Sofia Boutella, Djimon Hounsou, Ed Skrein, Michiel Huisman, Bae Doona, Ray Fisher, Charlie Hunnam, Anthony Hopkins, and more.
