I can’t believe it, but we now only have a few weeks left of 2022. This year has been a great one for Netflix releases, as we finally saw the return of Stranger Things, along with other highly-anticipated titles such as Virgin River, The Umbrella Academy, Ozark, and more. Though we’ve certainly been blessed with content on the streamer in 2022, we have a feeling 2023 might be even bigger and better.

There are so many shows confirmed for 2023 already, but while we wait for the new year to begin, here are some of the most binge-worthy titles currently streaming on Netflix.

Binge-worthy Netflix shows

Have some downtime around the holidays or just need to marathon a good show while the temperatures continue to go down? We’ve got just what you need with these picks!

You

If you’re a fan of thrillers and haven’t watched You on Netflix, what are you doing? The addicting series stars Penn Badgley as Joe Goldberg, a serial killer who becomes obsessed with women he sees from afar and must battle his inner demons. Throughout the seasons, he moves to different locations and forms new relationships. You has featured some awesome cast members, including Wednesday‘s Jenna Ortega and The Haunting‘s Victoria Pedretti.

You returns for season 4 in 2023, so it’s the perfect time to binge the series before the new season comes out. Season 4 will be broken up into two parts, with part 1 dropping on Feb. 9 and the second on March 9.

Wednesday

The latest addition to this list is one that’s taken the world by storm. Wednesday dropped on Netflix in Nov. 2022 and has been a hit ever since. The teen-friendly show stars Jenna Ortega as the titular character of the Addams Family as she attends a new school called Nevermore Academy. There, she learns about a prophecy for her to save the school and her classmates, and she must follow it through.

Wednesday is eight episodes long, making for an easy weekend binge if you have the time. The series has been breaking viewing records and those who have seen it are just waiting around for a season 2 announcement!

Shadow and Bone

Calling all fantasy lovers! Shadow and Bone is one of the most popular shows on Netflix and for good reason. The series is based on the Grishaverse novels written by Leigh Bardugo, and the first season follows protagonist Alina Starkov as she discovers she has special powers that might actually save the world. The second season is due out on March 16, 2023, so there’s still time to check out the first season. But don’t wait too long! This show is exciting, fun, and really entertaining to watch.

Outer Banks

Another series returning in 2023 is Outer Banks, one of the most fun Netflix Originals to date. The teen drama follows a group of friends living out by the water in the OBX. In the first season, protagonist John B discovers clues that could lead him to his missing father and buried treasure. So far, there are two seasons of the addicting show and the fanbase has only grown as new episodes debut.

Outer Banks season 3 is due out in 2023, though we don’t have a release date yet. However, star Madelyn Cline seemingly spilled the beans during an interview where she said the show would be returning in February, so if that’s the case, you’d better get to binging the first two seasons now!

The Witcher

Based on the beloved book series by Andrzej Sapkowski, The Witcher is now two seasons deep on Netflix and there’s another one on the way in 2023! The series stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, a monster hunter who we follow each episode. There’s been some shakeup with the series this year, as it was announced Liam Hemsworth would be replacing Cavill in season 4. But first, we’ve still got The Witcher season 3 to look forward to, which will hit Netflix in summer 2023.

Plus, the prequel series The Witcher: Blood Origin debuts this year on Dec. 25. If you’re a fan of the fantasy genre, you should absolutely check out The Witcher franchise. It’ll be worth the binge if you take a liking to it!

1899

Netflix has a vast library of international titles, and one of the newest and most popular is 1899. The mystery period series is created by Jantje Friese and Baran bo Odar, German filmmakers who made the critically acclaimed series Dark on Netflix. If you’re a fan of twisty stories that are hard to predict and might leave you scratching your head, 1899 is definitely worth the binge. With eight episodes total, you can totally watch it all in one weekend. And you’ll definitely want to once you start!

1899 has yet to be renewed for a second season, but we’re hopeful we’ll get some good news regarding the show’s future soon.
