In 2019, Netflix released Merry Happy Whatever, a family sitcom that takes place in the days leading up to and following the Christmas holiday.

Dennis Quaid stars as Don Quinn, a stern sheriff welcoming his adult children back home for Christmas and learning to let go… well, a little bit. His youngest daughter, Emmy (Bridgit Mendler), brings her new boyfriend home, and Don doesn’t take it well. It’s just one of the many challenges facing the Quinn family for Christmas. The short-lived series also stars Ashley Tisdale, Brent Morin, Siobhan Murphy, Adam Rose, Elizabeth Ho, and Hayes MacArthur.

You’ll definitely find yourself relating to the family dysfunction in the sitcom and laughing at all of the cringe-worthy moments. Although the critically panned series was canceled after one season, Merry Happy Whatever still a charming eight-episode addition to your holiday watch list on Netflix.
