Will there be a Manifest season 5? (Is Manifest season 5 happening?)

Manifest season 4 part 2 has only just arrived on Netflix, but fans are already looking ahead to the future which isn’t surprising given the events of the season.

Without spoiling anything, let’s just say that Manifest season 4 part 2 turns the dial up to 11 and the way in which the season ends definitely leaves audiences with some unresolved questions. So it’s only natural for fans to have questions about the show’s future as they finish their binge-watch of the season’s new episodes.

When Netflix renewed Manifest, it did so by ordering a super-sized 20-episode season. This season, season 4, was split into two parts, both consisting of 10 episodes with part 1 arriving on Nov. 4, 2022 and part 2 coming dropping on June 2, 2023. But what does the future hold for Manifest beyond season 4?

Is Manifest season 5 happening?

While Netflix has taught us to never say never, there are no current plans for a fifth season of Manifest and the odds of a fifth season happening are extremely low.

When Netflix saved Manifest from cancellation, it did so by renewing Manifest for a final season. And while Netflix has renewed a show for a final season only to order another season — ala Lucifer — this isn’t in the cards for Manifest due to the nature of the show.

When Jeff Rake created the series, he went into it knowing the story he was hoping to tell. His original plan was to tell the story across six seasons, but when Netflix renewed the series for a fourth and final season following the show’s cancellation at NBC that plan changed a bit.

Knowing the finish line had changed, Rake condensed the story he planned on telling to adjust the timing while staying true to the story he set out to tell. As such, it’s unlikely even if Netflix were to offer up the option of a fifth season that Manifest season 5 would happen as Rake and the writers went into the season knowing season 4 would be its last.

As such, they planned and executed the ending the series originally set out to tell across its run across the show’s 20-episode fourth season. While there will likely be talks among fans about a possible continuation, the ending of the show was pretty final which suggests that another season won’t be coming our way.

Was Manifest canceled?

Manifest was indeed canceled with the show’s cancelation order coming at the hands of NBC where the show originally aired for three seasons. After three seasons, NBC decided to cancel the show which is when Netflix swept in to save the series by listening to the Manifest fans and seeing the passion for the show once it arrived on Netflix globally.

While Netflix did save the show from a cancellation order which would have left things unresolved, the streaming service’s order was for a final season which meant it was only picking the show up for one season. The twist was that this season would consist of 20 episodes, which is about twice as long as your typical Netflix Original series.
