It’s almost time to board Flight 828 for the final time. The first half of Manifest season 4 arrives in mere days, and Manifesters around the world couldn’t be more excited to reunite with the characters they have known and loved (and now saved) since takeoff.

Manifest first premiered on NBC in September 2021 and was later canceled in June 2021 after three seasons. Of course, fans around the world helped propel the series to unbelievable heights on Netflix, prompting the streamer to save the series for a final season.

Finally, the fruits of the #SaveManifest campaign’s labor will arrive on Netflix this fall. If you have any questions that need answered in preparation for season 4 part 1, here’s the full scoop on the new episodes.

Manifest season 3 ending explained

Warning: Spoilers ahead from Manifest season 3.

The two-part Manifest season 3 finale (which also doubled as the series finale for a couple months), delivered a high octane double feature of questions and answers. All hell breaks loose at Eureka when testing on the tailfin causes harm to Cal, who touches the tailfin and disappears.

Ben and Grace are desperate to get Cal back, and Saanvi releases the tailfin back into the ocean. But that’s only the tip of the iceberg, er… tailfin. Adrian and Eagan continue to cause problems for the Stones by radicalizing a group of 828 passengers against them, which includes Angelina.

Believing baby Eden is her guardian angel, Angelina breaks into the Stone home and stabs Grace in order to kidnap Eden. Right after, an adult Cal mysteriously returns home and says his goodbyes to his dying mother, assuring her he knows what to do.

In the episode’s final sequence, Dr. Gupta leaves Eureka and notices Captain Bill Daly in the cockpit of the rebuilt Flight 828 plane. She watches as both he and the plane disappear in an inexplicable flash of light. Disappearances, reappearances, deaths, kidnappings, relationship struggles… It’s all leading into an explosive final season.

What is Manifest season 4 part 1 about?

Based on the above recap of the season 3 finale, Manifest will be tackling Grace’s death and Eden’s kidnapping, both of which will cast a large shadow over the emotional motivations of the characters in the fourth season.

Additionally, Manifest season 4 picks up two years after the season 3 finale, but Ben’s still in the throes of grief and searching for Eden. In those two years, things have changed immensely for 828ers, as Michaela captains the lifeboat on her own with a new government agency breathing down their necks.

Check out the official synopsis via Netflix:

"Two years after the brutal murder of Grace turned their lives upside down, the Stone family is in shambles as a devastated Ben continues to mourn his wife and search for his kidnapped daughter, Eden. Consumed by his grief, Ben has stepped down from his role as co-captain of the lifeboat, leaving Michaela to captain it alone, a near impossible feat with the passengers’ every move now being monitored by a government registry. As the Death Date draws closer and the passengers grow desperate for a path to survival, a mysterious passenger arrives with a package for Cal that changes everything they know about Flight 828 and will prove to be the key to unlocking the secret of the Callings in this compelling, mind-bending, and deeply emotional journey."

The dreaded Death Date creeps up on Ben, Michaela, Cal, Saanvi, and all of the passengers with no clear solution to surviving the date in sight. But that will be the captivating and surely twisty journey our heroes take in the 10 episodes of part 1.

Is Grace in Manifest season 4?

Unfortunately, Athena Karkanis will not appear in Manifest season 4 in a series regular capacity as Grace Stone. Prior to the release of season 4, the Manifest powers-that-be have not confirmed whether Karkanis will make a cameo in any flashbacks or dream sequences.

In the event that Manifesters do get to say one last goodbye to Grace (and Karkanis) in some sort of cameo appearance in either Manifest season 4 part 1 or part 2, it’s best to leave that to surprise. For now, we should assume we’ve said goodbye to Grace.

Manifest season 4 part 1 cast

As for who we can expect to see in the final season of Manifest, Netflix was able to round up the entire main cast to reprise their roles. Here’s who’s on board to help steer the Lifeboat in the right direction in the fourth and final season:

  • Melissa Roxburgh as Michaela Stone
  • Josh Dallas as Ben Stone
  • J.R. Ramirez as Jared Vasquez
  • Luna Blaise as Olive Stone
  • Ty Doran as Cal Stone
  • Parveen Kaur as Saanvi Bahl
  • Matt Long as Zeke Landon
  • Holly Taylor as Angelina Meyer
  • Daryl Edwards as Robert Vance

On top of the main cast members listed above, the first part of season 4 will also welcome back some well-known and fan-favorite recurring characters:

  • Ellen Tamaki as Drea Mikami
  • Ali Lopez-Sohaili as Eagan Tehrani
  • Jared Grimes as Adrian
  • Garrett Wareing as TJ Morrison

Beyond Drea, Eagan, Adrian, and TJ, Manifesters should also anticipate to see even more familiar faces pop in and out of the fourth season. However, those listed above are those that have been confirmed to return for a solid amount of episodes or an appearance.

How many episodes are in Manifest season 4 part 1?

When Netflix saved Manifest for a fourth and final season, the streamer announced right off the bat that season 4 would have a super-sized 20-episode order. Although that was in direct opposition to the six-season plan creator Jeff Rake envisioned, 20 episodes is better than cancellation.

Netflix will split season 4 right down the middle. Manifest season 4 part 1 will contain 10 episodes, and part 2 will contain the remaining 10. Sure, three more seasons of 13 episodes each would have been preferred, but we’re grateful these 20 episodes will finish the story.

When does Manifest season 4 part 1 come to Netflix? Release date and time

Manifest season 4 part 1 premieres on Netflix on Friday, Nov. 4. As Manifesters know well by now, Nov. 4 is the day Flight 828 landed after five and half years missing. The release date for the first half of season 4 — the first since being saved — is super special and poetic.

Keeping suit with all of Netflix’s new release, Manifest’s new episodes will drop on Nov. 4 at 12 a.m. PT, which is 3 a.m. ET. For a closer look at when the final descent begins in your area, check out our handy guide of Netflix release times based on time zones.
