Unsolved Mysteries season 3 episode 3 recap: “Body in Bags”

The final episode in the first batch of Unsolved Mysteries volume 3 follows a harrowing story of a murder in 2018. Father, son, and friend David Carter was killed and dismembered in Michigan, with parts of his body stuffed into bags and left on the side of the highway.

David’s family was absolutely shocked when he disappeared and even more so his body parts were found. He was said to have been a hard worker and a great dad. When he didn’t show up for work a couple of days in a row, his family knew something was wrong. The prime suspect in the case was his girlfriend Tamera “Tammy” Williams, who David’s family observed was a very jealous type.

According to David’s sister, the last time the family saw David was at one of his son’s school games. Tammy was also in attendance, but apparently, she and David weren’t speaking. His sister speculates that David might have broken up with Tammy later that night, and she could’ve retaliated by killing him.

David’s cause of death was a bullet to the head. According to investigators, there was no sign of fighting back, which lead his family to believe he might’ve been sleeping or passed out from something.

Did Tammy Williams kill David Carter?

When the family reported David missing, they were surprised that Tammy did not help them in their search. She claimed she hadn’t talked to him in days and didn’t know where he was. At the time, she was brought in for questioning but because there wasn’t enough evidence to hold her, she was let go. By the time David’s body parts were found, Tammy had skipped town.

To this day, police haven’t been able to locate Tammy and no one has been charged with David’s murder. We don’t know for sure whether or not his girlfriend was the perpetrator, though she seems like the most likely suspect. His family sadly continues to live with this grief without any closure.
