Firefly Lane premiered on Netflix in February 2021, and it was one of the big hits from early 2021. Netflix renewed the series for season 2, and fans have been waiting patiently ever since for news about the Firefly Lane season 2 release date on Netflix.

The warm-hearted series follows the lives of two best friends, Tully Hart and Kate Mularkey, told from the points of view of their teenage years and adulthood. That means two actresses play each role, with popular stars Katherine Heigl and Sarah Chalke portraying the older versions. The show is based on the book series of the same name written by Kristin Hannah.

The cast and crew started filming Firefly Lane season 2 in August 2021. According to What’s on Netflix, production was scheduled to conclude in April 2022.

The streamer just recently announced that Firefly Lane season 2 will be split up into two parts, with the first batch of episodes coming out on Dec. 2, 2022 and the second half sometime in 2023. The season will contain a whopping 16 episodes, which is great!

The sad news is that it’s also been confirmed Firefly Lane season 2 will mark the end of the series. Considering there are only two books, that’s not entirely surprising. But we’ll be sad to see Tully and Kate go!
