It’s a new week and that means Netflix is adding a bunch of new movies and shows to their lineup. It’s not the biggest week for the streaming service but they will be adding a new docu-series, a new Tyler Perry movie, and a new crime drama.

The story behind Netflix’s latest docu-series, The Real Bling Ring: Hollywood Heist, has been told a few times. Once in a TV movie and once on the big screen in 2013. But now there are no big Hollywood names playing the real people involved. The people who committed the crime and some of the famous people who were victims are now telling their own stories.

The three-part docu-series hits Netflix on Wednesday, Sept. 21, 2022.

Tyler Perry is also back on Netflix with his latest film, A Jazzman’s Blues. It comes to Netflix on Friday, Sept. 23. The movie stars Solea Pfeiffer, Joshua Boone, Ryan Eggold, Amirah Vann, Lauren Buglioli, Milauna Jackson, Lana Young, and E. Roger Mitchell.

Netflix is adding Lou and A Jazzman’s Blues this week

The film tells the story of an unsolved investigation that unravels a tale of forbidden love, deceit, and a secret surrounding it all. The timeline of the film spans 40 years and starts in 1947 Georgia where Bayou and Leanne meet and fall in love.

Unfortunately, their families don’t approve of their relationship and it takes them years before they meet again. When they do meet, Bayou is a performer and Leanne is married and passing as white.

The movie then shifts to 1987 when a bunch of letters are delivered to the state attorney general. They might be the evidence needed to break open the unsolved murder case of Bayou.
