Stranger Things season 5 is still a long way off, primarily since the final season is still being written. While we’re waiting for the new season, many of the show’s stars are doing other projects, like Maya Hawke, who has a new album coming out very soon (and so does Joe Keery!).

Her album “Moss” is being released on September 23, and ahead of it, Hawke gave a recent interview with Rolling Stone discussing her music, Stranger Things, and her hopes for her character’s future. Not only does she wish for Robin to have a “hero’s death” (not me! please, no more dead gay characters), but she also thinks it would be fun to work with Joe Keery again in the future.

Hawke and Keery’s on-screen friendship as Robin Buckley and Steve Harrington has become one of the show’s most popular and beloved friendships. The duo is hilarious together, and it’s clear that the actors have a lot of love for each other off-screen, too. Keery previously said he and Hawke had exchanged albums as his new album (under his stage name DJO) “Decide” releases on September 16.

Maya Hawke would be down for a Stranger Things spinoff with Joe Keery

While Hawke says she’s not totally sold on the idea of doing a Stranger Things spinoff, she would happily make an exception if it meant she got to work with Keery again. Imagine a show where we got to see Robin and Steve hanging out together in New York in the nineties.

"“Normally I wouldn’t really be a proponent of a spinoff, but if I got to do it with Joe Keery, I would do anything. He’s so funny and wonderful and smart, and he’s got great boundaries. He’s an excellent coworker, and I would do anything with him.”"

Unfortunately, it seems unlikely that her spinoff idea will come to fruition, as the Duffer Brothers already have another spinoff series planned and will supposedly not follow any of the main characters we already know in the show.

Still, even if we don’t see Robin and Steve together again, it would be awesome if Hawke and Keery collaborated musically or otherwise in the future!
