Cobra Kai season 5 is officially out and we now have so many answers to our questions from that explosive season 4 finale. But of course, with another cliffhanger comes even more to wonder about, leaving us on the edge of our seats for a potential sixth season. But let’s not get ahead of ourselves! There’s so much in season 5 for us to discuss.

Coming off of the All Valley tournament in season 4 which saw Cobra Kai victorious, Terry Silver (Thomas Ian Griffith) is as powerful and evil as ever, with a plan to take over Los Angeles with multiple dojos. And he won’t stop there.

Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) has enlisted the help of Chozen Toguchi (Yuji Okumoto), who comes to L.A. to assist in the fight against Silver. While Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka) still wants to see Silver be taken down, he has different priorities this time around. He wants to provide for his family, especially know that he and his son Robby (Tanner Buchanan) are on good terms.

Spoilers ahead for Cobra Kai season 5.

As we see in the Cobra Kai season 5 trailer, Johnny even gets a job as a driver for an app similar to Uber, which doesn’t exactly go so well. But why is Johnny such a changed man in the new season? Well, there’s one huge reason we haven’t mentioned yet. His girlfriend Carmen (Vanessa Rubio), a.k.a. Miguel’s (Xolo Maridueña) mom, thinks she might be pregnant.

In episode 3, Miguel is back home in Los Angeles after going to Mexico to find his real father, and we see the family enjoying breakfast together — Miguel, Carmen, Grandma Rosa (Rose Bianco), and Johnny. It’s around this time that Carmen informs Johnny in confidence that she’s late and believes she’s pregnant.

This is a huge bombshell for Johnny to learn, as even though he’s happy about the possibility, he’s also terrified. Can he really raise another child? He wasn’t a great dad to Robby when he was growing up.

Do Carmen and Johnny have a baby in Cobra Kai season 5?

It’s revealed later in the episode that Carmen is, in fact, pregnant! She takes a pregnancy test without Johnny and then heads to his house to give him the good news. She’s surprised to see that Johnny has already totally transformed his place to make it baby-proof, and he’s been doing research on how to raise a child. He might be nervous, but he’s definitely committed!

Carmen does not give birth in Cobra Kai season 5, but she is pregnant. We’re sure if Cobra Kai season 6 happens, we’ll get to see the birth of their child. How exciting!

Johnny accidentally spills the beans to Miguel and Robby that he and Carmen are expecting, and they’re really excited. I’m so glad Johnny has Carmen in his life because she truly makes him a better person!

At this time, Cobra Kai season 6 has not been announced yet, but keep up with us at Netflix Life for all the latest updates on the show’s future. And in the meantime, you can stream all 10 episodes of season 5 right now.
