Is Cobra Kai season 6 happening?

Cobra Kai returned for season 5 in September 2022 and it was another exciting installment. The karate dramedy has been a staple for Netflix and fans are always eager to see what happens next between the Dojos as they compete at the All Valley championships.

Will there be a Cobra Kai season 6?

At the time of this writing, Cobra Kai season 6 has not been announced. But we wouldn’t worry too much about that. Because Cobra Kai season 5 is about to come out, it’s not unusual that we haven’t gotten word on a potential next season yet. Of course, season 5 was announced before season 4 came out, but that was just a pleasant surprise.

According to the people behind Cobra Kai, the hope has been for “at least” six seasons, so there’s reason to believe Cobra Kai season 6 will be announced soon. In July 2022, co-creator Jon Hurwitz responded to a fan on Twitter, clarifying comments that were previously made about the amount of seasons Cobra Kai would have.

“We were misquoted in saying there would be 6 seasons. We’ve often said that we hoped there would be at least 6 seasons. But we’ll see,” Hurwitz wrote.

Hurwitz also said that same day on Twitter: “All I can say is that we expect more Cobra Kai to come and that the Miyagiverse is far from finished.”

That’s great news, but despite the creators wanting the show to keep going, it’s up to Netflix at the end of the day. The streamer will likely want to analyze the viewership numbers for season 5 before making any decisions. That said, considering Cobra Kai has been very successful for the streamer, we’d predict season 6 will most likely happen. We’ll just have to cross our fingers and wait and see.
