Happy new month! We’re officially heading into the fall season, meaning you will need plenty of shows to keep you warm while you shield away from the cold. Thankfully, Netflix has you covered with its many great anime titles coming to its platform this month.

Before we dive into what’s new, we absolutely have to give a quick shout-out to Kakegurui Twin season 1, DOTA: Dragon’s Blood: Book 3, and Tekken: Bloodline, as these stunning titles took our breath away and were the perfect way to close out the summer.

Although the continuation of these titles won’t release next month, we’re sure to see them again. But for now, let’s get into the new anime releases of September 2022.

New Netflix anime to watch in September 2022

Get ready for one of the best seasons of Netflix anime because you will be streaming four awesome series you’ve been waiting for all year.

Here are the four best anime coming to Netflix in September 2022!

JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean Part 2

Release Date: September 1

We hope you didn’t miss Jolyne Cujoh too much!

That’s right, Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure: Stone Ocean is back with its highly anticipated second installment, which means you’ll finally get to know what happened after the intense battle between Stand Users that left Jolyne and her allies utterly defeated. Also, part two will dive into how exactly Pucci intends to resurrect his friend, Dio, despite the many trials and tribulations he’s up against.

The upcoming battle will determine whether the good guys will save the day once again or if the powers of evil will succeed and thus, put the lives of many at stake.

See all this and more in the official trailer for Stone Ocean part two below.

Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- Part 2

Release Date: September 15

Bastard!! -Heavy Metal, Dark Fantasy- is yet another anime title that is returning with a second installment. And just like Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure, you can bet that this upcoming season will pick up right from where it left off.

The last time we saw this series, we observed Dark Schneider face off against Abigail’s malicious actions, which left his dear daughter, Arshes Nei, overcome with the desire to kill her precious father. Dark may have been successful in deducing that it was Abigail that was controlling Arshes. Unfortunately, he wasn’t successful in freeing her from her deadly curse. And so, in an attempt to save Arshes’ life, Dark sacrificed his heart to free her from the curse.

Will part two begin with the confirmed death of Dark Schneider? Or will the powerful wizard find a way to thwart Abigail’s plans?

Drifting Home

Release Date: September 16

After watching titles involving dark magic and Stand Users, direct all your attention to Drifting Home.

Directed by Fastening Days‘ Hiroyasu Ishida, the 2022 anime film follows the lives of a group of children who are left stranded after a strange power swept their home to the middle of the ocean. These castaways are determined to find a way back to shore. However, between the fearsome waves putting them in harm’s way and a couple of the kids preferring life on the ocean, it’s clear they’ll need to carefully plan out their next steps to avoid making grave decisions.

You might want to bring a tissue or two to this movie night because Drifting Home is full of many moments that’ll make you laugh and cry. Believe us when we say it’s a film you don’t want to miss.

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners

Release Date: September 13

Cyberpunk: Edgerunners is the final anime on our list of anime you should watch in September 2022. But best believe that last place is certainly not a testament to this anime’s greatness.

Set in a world where technology rules the land, David and the rest of his thrill-seeking friends make it their goal to live their life to the fullest without permission from anyone. What better way to do this than to become an egderunner—a desperado who makes money by kicking the butts of the strongest cyborgs?

Inspired by Cyberpunk 2077, the iconic video game that captivated the world in 2020, this Netflix original series will tell a riveting story like no other.

In addition to these great titles, Netflix will add a few fan-favorite titles later this month, thanks to the site’s brand-new deal with Nippon TV. Beginning today, here are the anime expected to release in the soon-coming weeks:

  • Berserk
  • Claymore
  • Death Note
  • Death Note: Relight 1
  • Death Note: Relight 2
  • From Me to You season 1
  • From Me to You season 2
  • Hajime No Ippo: The Fighting!
  • Hunter x Hunter
  • Monster
  • Nana
  • Ouran High School Host Club
  • Parasyte: The Maxim

It’s safe to say you won’t experience a single day of boredom this month, as Netflix has seriously outdone itself in the anime department. Perhaps we’ll get even more amazing shows and films next month. Stay tuned to find out!
