Are you ready to see Charles Dickens’ Ebenezer Scrooge like never before?  Well, get ready for some Christmas fun as the Netflix adaptation Scrooge: A Christmas Carol has a “supernatural, time-traveling, musical” twist that is bound to put you in the festive mood.

According to Netflix’s Media Center, the newest adaptation of the classic tale will be featuring “re-imagined songs from the legendary and two-time Academy Award winner Leslie Bricusse OBE,” meaning we’re surely in for a treat. Is there a Scrooge: A Christmas Carol release date?

Yes! On Aug. 30, Netflix unveiled its fall 2022 film slate and Scrooge: A Christmas Carol was included in the lineup. It was revealed that the Christmas movie would be making its way to Netflix on Friday, Dec. 2, 2022. However, it will first be released in select theaters starting Nov. 18.

A stellar cast has been signed on to voice the Netflix animated Christmas movie, with some pretty huge and recognizable names attached to the project. According to IMDb, these are the actors who are voice acting in the supernatural Charles Dickens Christmas story adaptation.

Scrooge: A Christmas Carol synopsis

Many will already be familiar with the classic Charles Dickens Christmas tale, so the synopsis for the Netflix adaptation does not give much away. It reads:

"“A supernatural, time-traveling, musical adaptation of Charles Dickens’ cult Christmas story.”"

Is there Scrooge: A Christmas Carol trailer?

Unfortunately, we’re getting ahead of ourselves. The movie is still currently undergoing post-production, so an official trailer has yet to be revealed by the streaming giant. However, a trailer for the upcoming Christmas adaptation is bound to be released at a later date, closer to its release. That being said, we did recently get a first look at the animation!

On July 20, 2022, Netflix shared two images from the upcoming release of Scrooge: A Christmas Carol with their social media followers and revealed that the highly anticipated Charles Dickens adaptation is coming to our screens in December 2022. From the images, we can already tell that the animation will be beautiful, a sentiment that seems to be shared by many social media users also.

“Wow this looks beautiful, can’t wait for December now!” one Twitter user wrote in response to the post, with a second adding “the animation is stunning.”
