Firefly Lane season 2 release rumors: Is the new season coming in November 2022?

Everyone’s ready for Firefly Lane‘s return. It’s been over a year since the first season dropped and fans are going through withdrawals. Fortunately, a new report came out and it looks like we might be seeing Firefly Lane season 2 in November 2022.

Firefly Lane is one of the best drama series on Netflix hands down. It stars Grey’s Anatomy‘s Katherine Heigl and Scrubs star Sarah Chalke as two best friends who meet as young girls and quickly form an unbreakable bond that carries into their adult years.

The drama series is based on the novel titled the same name by writer Kristin Hannah. It was created, executive produced, and written by Maggie Friedman, whose best known for her work on the fantasy series Witches of East End. Besides Heigl and Chalke, Ben Lawson, Beau Garrett, Ali Skovbye, Roan Curtis, Yael Yurman, and Ignacio Serricchio also star in the drama series.

It was a painfully three-month wait before Netflix announced Firefly Lane‘s renewal in May 2021. Principal photography on Firefly Lane season 2 then started in August 2021 and wrapped in April 2022. The second season has been in post-production ever since then. Now, we’re just waiting for Netflix to announce the official release date.

Is Firefly Lane season 2 coming in November 2022?

It appears so! According to an initial report by Deadline, Firefly Lane season 2 is slated to come to Netflix sometime in November. However, the article has been edited and now says the second season will be coming “later this year.” Later this year could mean November, so we still believe Firefly Lane season 2 will arrive on Netflix in November 2022. We knew the second season would be coming sometime in the fall, so a November release makes sense. Until Netflix announces the official release date, you can expect the second season to land on the streamer sometime in November.

In an interview with Netflix’s Drama Head Jinny Howe, she spoke a little about what fans can expect from Firefly Lane season 2. Howe said, “It is really going to deliver on all of the emotions, all the feels, as I say. It’s a really, really beautiful season, Katherine and Sarah, their dynamic is so, so strong, so I’m really excited to have fans return to that show.”

The season finale definitely raised a few questions, so we can’t wait to return to the world of Firefly Lane!
