The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 release: When could season 2 arrive on Netflix?

The Lincoln Lawyer premiered on Netflix in May 2022 and was a smash hit. It received mostly positive reviews from critics, and viewers couldn’t stop raving about the legal drama. Now with The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 confirmed, people are wondering when the second installment will be released.

The Lincoln Lawyer is a Netflix original series created by David E. Kelley and developed by Ted Humphrey. Kelley is best known as the creator of the TV shows Doogie Howser, M.D., Chicago Hope, Big Little Lies and Big Sky. In addition, Humphrey is known for his work on the legal drama series The Good Wife.

The first season was based on the book The Brass Verdict by New York Times best-selling author Michael Connelly. It’s the second novel in Connelly’s The Lincoln Lawyer book series. Manuel Garcia-Rulfo stars as Mickey Haller, an attorney who runs his practice out of the back of his Lincoln Town Car. The rest of the main cast includes Neve Campbell, Becki Newton, Jazz Raycole, Angus Sampson, and Christopher Gorham.

After a successful first season, Netflix had no choice but to go ahead and renew the legal drama for a second season. However, there has been no news about The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 production schedule or release date. So it looks like principal photography on the second season hasn’t started. However, we think there’s a good chance the cast and crew will start filming by the end of the year. So what could this mean for The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 release date? We shared our release date predictions below.

When could The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 arrive on Netflix?

Although a production schedule isn’t known yet, we know the creative team is working very hard on the second season. On June 14, showrunner Ted Humphrey tweeted from his official Twitter account and said, “@Connellybooks @dailynrod@rulfomanuel and myself and the rest of our amazing cast and team of writers and producers are already hard at work and we hope to bring it to you very soon! Thank you again for watching, rewatching, and talking us up!”

The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 will consist of 10 episodes. It’s unclear how long it will take to write all the scripts for the second season, but we think the scripts will be finished so that production can get started by the end of 2022.

Production on season 1 took about five months and post-production took about nine months. We’re probably looking at similar timeframes for season 2. However, we’re hoping post-production can be cut shorter than nine months. We know for sure that we won’t be seeing The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 in 2022. It’s impossible. However, a 2023 release is very likely.

We can pretty much knock out an early 2023 release because there’s no way the filmmaking process will be able to wrap up that fast. So we’re probably looking at a summer or fall 2023 release.

We’ll have a better idea of when The Lincoln Lawyer season 2 could land on Netflix once we have a production schedule. But, for now, expect the second season to arrive on Netflix sometime in mid or late-2023.
