Contrary to popular belief, it sounds like Joseph Quinn did not have a negative experience at his recent (and first) comic-con appearance. The story started when the actor attended the London Film and Comic Con fan convention, greeting hundreds of fans who were all eager to spend time with the Eddie Munson actor and breakout star of Stranger Things season 4.

Afterward, a video started circulating online showing Joseph on-stage talking to a fan who apologized to him for how he was “treated” the previous day. The fan was very cordial and polite, thanking Quinn for bringing Eddie to life and letting him know he was loved.

Quinn could be seen getting teary-eyed in the video as he appeared emotional over the fan’s kind and gracious words. It also led people to believe that the fan was correct in stating that he had been mistreated by some of the staffers at the convention.

Joseph Quinn sets the record straight regarding his recent comic con visit

The story circulating was that the convention had significantly overbooked the convention and when Quinn tried to spend a decent chunk of time with each person, they started harassing and rushing him to hurry up.

However, in Quinn’s recent interview with 1883 Magazine, he set the record straight.

"“I did my first Comic Con recently. It’s going around that I was mistreated by the staff, which is totally not true. […] They made me feel very safe and looked after. We just weren’t prepared for the number of people that turned up.”"

It sounds like the fan’s account of the incident and the story on social media got blown out of proportion, as these things tend to do. Based on his quote, tickets might have been overbooked and there may have been some stress/frustration, but it Quinn is claiming they looked after him rather than the story spreading that the staff members berated him.

But one thing that cannot be overstated is Quinn’s astronomical rise to fame. The actor has amassed millions of followers on his Instagram account and the publishing of his 1883 Magazine interview has actually caused the site to crash for several hours.

We’re kind of wondering if the Duffer Brothers are kicking themselves for ending Stranger Things season 4 volume 2 the way did considering just how insanely popular Quinn and Eddie have become.

if you still can’t get online to the 1883 Magazine interview, I recommend checking out their official Twitter and Instagram for photos and snippets from Quinn’s chat with them, hopefully the servers will be back up soon so fans can read the article in full.

The actor is also going to be making an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon tonight, find out how to watch the episode live right here.
