Virgin River season 4 trailer introduces the town’s hot new doctor (Is Jack in trouble?)

Uh-oh, it looks like Jack might have a little romantic competition for Mel’s heart going into Virgin River season 4!

The official trailer for the new season has finally premiered and in it we got to see our first glimpse of new and returning characters. Among the newcomers is Mark Ghanimé, who will be a series regular in the show’s fourth season.

Ghanimé is playing Dr. Cameron Hayek. If you recall, in the third season, Doc was talking about hiring a new doctor at the clinic and it looks like he’s made his choice. Dr. Hayek is a dashing new employee that might just have eyes for Mel, although it’s too early to tell if it’ll blossom into anything serious just based on the trailer.

Who is the hot new doctor in Virgin River season 4?

Dr. Hayek is described as a “dashing new physician” with “eye-catching good looks” and “a razor-sharp intellect.” In the trailer, Muriel teases Jack by suggesting that he’ll be competition since Mel will likely be working closely with him throughout the new season.

Does that mean Mel’s eyes might wander to the new man in her life? It seems unlikely given how much she and Jack have been through at this point and especially because Mel is pregnant, but we know how much this show loves drama so we’ll see!

Where have you seen Mark Ghanimé before?

If the actor playing Dr. Hayek, Mark Ghanimé, looks familiar to you, you might have seen him in some of his previous projects. Ghanimé has recurred on shows like The Bold Type, Private Eyes, iZombie, Reign and Slasher. The 44-year-old also starred as Major Sergio Balleseros in the Syfy series Helix.
