Who dies in Stranger Things season 4 part 2?

The final episodes of Stranger Things season 4 are here and we now know how this epic installment ends! This has been without a doubt the most eventful and emotional season of the Netflix Original so far. Just when I thought the Duffer Brothers couldn’t top the season 3 finale, they went and did this! I can’t wait to hear what everyone thinks of these two new episodes.

The stakes are way higher in Stranger Things season 4 as we get to meet the one and only Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower), Hawkins’ most evil villain from the Upside Down. Well, he’s not originally from the Upside Down as we learn in episode 7, and the reveal of his true identity is so wild! With this new threat in Hawkins aimed to take every last one of our favorite characters down, we knew there’d be more death going into these final two episodes.

Spoilers ahead for Stranger Things season 4 part 2.

Sadly, Vecna is still looking to claim another victim in these final two episodes, and there are a few other deaths that happen, too. Below you’ll find a list of every character who unfortunately meets their end in Stranger Things season 4 volume 2.

Stranger Things season 4 part 2 deaths

In order of events:

• Multiple lab workers, shot by the military
• Dr. Brenner, shot by the military
• Russian guards, killed by the Demogorgon
• Max, killed by Vecna and brought back to life
• Eddie, killed by bats in the Upside Down
• Jason, killed by the Vecna’s rift in the ground
• Innocent people of Hawkins in the “earthquake”

There were only four major deaths in Stranger Things season 4 part 1, bringing the total number of central characters who die in this season to seven, if you’re not counting Max. At the end of season 4 part 2, Max is in a coma at the hospital, but she’s alive.

It’s so sad to see them meet their fate, though we know fans are relieved to know that their favorites, such as Steve (Joe Keery), Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown), Hopper (David Harbour), and Joyce Byers (Winona Ryder) are safe — for now. Of course, we have one last season of the Netflix series to go, so we can only predict who will be the next to meet their demise.

Can we also talk about the fact that Eddie died?! We were so hopeful he might make it out alive. He’s gone far too soon.
