Stranger Things season 4 part 2 is streaming now on Netflix and the wait has definitely been worth it! Season 4 has truly been one of the show’s strongest seasons yet and it’s also proved to be one of the show’s most gruesome seasons yet!

Across the first episodes, the season’s big bad, Vecna, began his reign of terror by claiming the lives of several unsuspecting victims in a series of truly horrific murders. While the early deaths of the season were reserved for newer characters, many OGs found themselves in precarious spots as the season progressed including Nancy.

In the seventh episode of Stranger Things season 4, Nancy ends up in the Upside Down after she, Robin and Eddie make their way through the gate at Lover’s Lake. This is good for Steve, who is rescued by the group upon their arrival after being dragged into the Upside Down.

After saving Steve, the group makes their way to Nancy’s house in hopes of gathering the guns she has stored in her bedroom closet to help ward off any creatures they might face — including Vecna. Unfortunately, when they arrive at her home in the Upside Down, they discover it seems to have been frozen in time and stuck in 1983 — before she purchased the guns.

Using the light in their home, the group is able to send an SOS in Morse Code which Dustin, Lucas,  and Erica answer after Dustin pieces together that they went through the water gate. Using a Lite-Brite to communicate, Nancy and the gang in Upside Down communicate with Dustin and the group in the real world.

Realizing that a portal opens where each of Vecna’s victims was killed, the Upside Down group makes their way to Eddie’s trailer where Vecna claimed his first victim.

Upon arriving at Eddie’s trailer, they find the gate and break it open which is when they’re able to see the real world. Dustin throws a sheet into the Upside Down for the others to use to get out and the plan works!  Robin climbs out first, followed by Eddie next and then Nancy. Only Nancy doesn’t make it back.

Instead, Nancy falls into darkness and eventually ends up in a very familiar empty swimming pool which is when Vecna’s voice calls out to her. Nancy is greeted by Barb’s corpse, which is when Vecna begins to prey on the guilty Nancy has for her role in Barb’s death — you know, the fact that Barb died while Nancy was hooking up with Steve and abandoned her friend. As the pool begins to fill with blood, Nancy suddenly finds herself in the Upside Down’s version of Creel House.

It’s here that she learns the truth about Vecna’s real identity, but the question remains, did she become Vecna’s latest victim?

Does Nancy die in Stranger Things season 4

Fear not! Nancy does not die in Stranger Things season 4 and is very much alive as the season comes to an end!

Picking up where episode 7 left off, as volume 2 begins with episode 8, Nancy is under Vecna’s trance but we quickly discover he has no intentions of killing her. Instead, he wants her to deliver a message to Eleven — a warning of what’s to come, as shown to Nancy via a vision.

After flooding Nancy’s mind with sights of what’s to come, Vecna release Nancy from his trance allowing her and Steve to return to the real world through the gate in Eddie’s uncle’s trailer. Using the knowledge they now have, Nancy and company devise an elaborate plan to stop Vecna before he can enact his grand plan.

While they hit a few bumps in the road — RIP [Redacted] — their plan ultimately works as they’re able to stop Vecna, at least for the time being. Although Nancy has another close call during the final showdown, she does survive and should be back in action for the show’s final season.
