It’s time to celebrate because we’re just days away from the release of Stranger Things season 4! The highly-anticipated return is said to be darker and scarier than ever before, and that trailer really proves it. We ended season 3 on a sad note as Jim Hopper (David Harbour) seemingly met his death and the Byers packed up their bags and moved to California with Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown). But of course, we now know Hop is alive and we also know more threats are ahead.

Stranger Things season 4 introduces the new villain from the Upside Down, Vecna. The humanoid creature is from the game Dungeons & Dragons, of course, and is really creepy. If you haven’t checked out the trailer yet, you’re missing out! Watch it here.

So now that we’re inching so close to Stranger Things season 4, a lot of people are confused about the episode release schedule. We know that there’s set to be nine episodes total, but do they all drop at once? How many will be released and when?

Stranger Things season 4 episode release schedule

Stranger Things season 4 is being split into two parts, with volume 1 releasing on May 27, 2022 and volume 2 coming out on July 1, 2022. The split for the two parts is a little unusual, as volume 1 has seven episodes and volume 2 has two. See the breakdown of Stranger Things season 4 episodes below:

  • Episode 1 “The Hellfire Club” – releasing May 27
  • Episode 2 “Vecna’s Curse” – releasing May 27

  • Episode 7 “The Massacre at Hawkins Lab” – releasing May 27
  • Episode 8 “Papa” – releasing July 1
