The release of Stranger Things season 4 vol. 1 is fast approaching! The sci-fi series returns to Netflix on May 27 after nearly a three-year-hiatus. One of the biggest questions we want answers to is what happened to Jim Hopper (David Harbour) during that long period, and while we still wait to find out we thought we’d take a look at what the actor has been up to in the mean time.
Did you know that he tied the knot to a famous singer in 2020 and starred in Marvel’s Black Widow? We’re sure you do, but if not, then carry on reading because we’ve got all the details about his love story below.
David Harbour wife
David Harbour tied the knot to British singer Lily Allen in 2020. The couple said “I do” in an intimate ceremony in Las Vegas in September of that year after a brief courtship that began in 2019.
In a typical Vegas wedding manner, the couple exchanged their vows in front of an Elvis Presley officiant.
In a past interview with The New York Times, the actor revealed that he met his now-wife before he began filming Marvel’s Black Widow, and joked with the interviewer that Lily Allen had fallen for him at his “worst,” making her an absolute keeper! He told the publication at the time:
"“It’s a true testament to my undeniable charisma when I say that my wife met me at 280 pounds with this beard and this hair. We went on a date at the Wolseley [restaurant] in London, and she really fell for me at my worst, physically and hair-wise.”"
When he appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! the actor also revealed what gave him the push to make things permanent with Lily Allen.
The Stranger Things actor told the host that he wanted to avoid an “emotional fallout” after Lily’s daughters, Ethel and Marnie, were getting confused about his role in their lives, especially when Allen’s youngest daughter began calling him “dad” because his name began with a “D.” He told the host:
"“The older one got very upset with that which I understand said, ‘He’s not our dad, he’s not our dad’ and the younger one was like, ‘Well what is he, he’s kind of her dad?, he’s kind of our step dad?’ and the older one said; ‘He’s just some guy in our lives’. For real. I was like, ‘I need to marry this woman because the emotional fallout…'”"
He added during the interview that being called “dad” was his “favorite thing.” Isn’t that just the sweetest?
