Netflix’s animation division might be going through a rocky era right now, but the streaming service did recently unveil a new and exciting slate of upcoming kids animation for the remainder of 2022 and even teased a few shows coming out in 2023. One of the series arriving later this year is Daniel Spellbound, a CG animated series from Boat Rocker Studios and Matt Fernandes (Dino Ranch, Kingdom Force).
Rated TV-Y7, Daniel Spellbound is a fantastical story set in modern-day New York City, the only difference is, here magic is real—it’s just hidden from the public. Fernandes executive produces alongside Ivan Schneeberg, David Fortier, Jon Rutherford and Chapman Maddox for Boatrocker and Tammy Semen and Arthur Spanos for Industrial Brothers.

Daniel Spellbound release date
Netflix confirmed that Daniel Spellbound season 1 will be released on October 27 as part of the upcoming Netflix and Chills lineup.

According to the original report from Deadline, Netflix ordered 20 episodes of the show, each one will be approximately 22 minutes in length. It’s not clear if all 20 episodes will be in the first season or if they will be split into two volumes.

Canadian actor Alex Barima will lead the cast as the titular hero. You might recognize him from his work on the Syfy series Resident Alien. He’s joined by Wynonna Earp actress Chantel Riley, voice actor Deven Christian Mack, Catherine Disher and many more talented individuals.
