Netflix is adding 50 new movies and shows this week

May is here! And while that will hopefully mean plenty of warmer weather, it definitely means a ton of new movies and shows are being added to Netflix.

This week brings a new season of a Netflix reality show, a new docu-series, and a bunch of new Netflix Original series.

First up this week is season 4 of The Circle. The reality show hits Netflix on Wednesday, May 4, 2022. The show follows a group of players who start off in isolated apartments away from each other and their only way to communicate is through a social media app, The Circle.

But as with any social media platform, the players can choose to play as themselves or as someone completely different.

At the end of each episode, they rate each other and whoever is ratest lowest is eliminated. Whoever makes it to the end (either by being themselves or catfishing the rest of the players) wins $150,000.

More in the mood for a docu-series? Meltdown: Three Mile Island also comes out on Wednesday, May 4. The series tells the story of a nuclear power plant on Three Mile Island and the partial meltdown that happened there on March 25, 1979.

We also get to meet the whistleblower who spoke up to protect the community. It remains the worst nuclear incident in U.S. history. It was nowhere near as bad as Chernobyl but when you’re dealing with nuclear power…not as bad as Chernobyl is still pretty bad.

There are also quite a few Netflix Original series coming out this week. The series include Mike Myers’ The Pentaverate, the Spanish series Welcome To Eden, and the Swedish series Clark starring Bill Skarsgård. Clark releases on Thursday, May 5 while Welcome to Eden will be out on Friday, May 6.

In The Pentaverate, Mike Myers plays eight different roles over the six-episode series. The show follows a Canadian journalist who makes it his mission to find the truth and save the world. He is looking to expose the five men that have been influencing the world for the greater good but the job is harder than he first thought. The five men will do anything to stop him from revealing who they are. The series hits Netflix on Thursday, May 5.

This week also brings Along for the Ride starring Andie MacDowell, Dermot Mulroney, and Kate Bosworth, and The Takedown starring Omar Sy. They both come to Netflix on Friday, May 6, 2022.
