Bridgerton season 3 spoilers: Jonathan Bailey hints at a Kathony baby coming next season

Anthony and Kate fans might have been cheated out of the chance to see the pair exchange their I Do’s, but it looks like fans will get to experience an equally significant Kathony milestone in Bridgerton season 3!

Although production has not yet begun on the third season of Bridgerton, Jonathan Bailey has hinted that season 3 will continue to explore Kate and Anthony’s relationship with a major development expected for the pair next season.

Could a Kathony baby be coming in Bridgerton season 3? Bailey’s latest comments sure seem to suggest Anthony and Kate could soon become parents and we are here for it!

Will Anthony and Kate have a baby in Bridgerton season 3?

Should Bridgerton season 3 stay true to the books, it is expected that Anthony and Kate will welcome their first child in the third season of the Netflix regency drama.

In an interview with The Wrap, Jonathan Bailey gushed about Anthony’s development in season 2 and openly spoke about his excitement at the opportunity to continue exploring the character next season… which was when he dropped a major shocker in teasing a Kathony baby and his excitement in seeing Anthony become an incredible father.

"“I just can’t wait for them to have a baby. Baby Edmund, I think, is the first that’s to come if it’s according to the books,” Bailey teased. “I just think he’s going to be able to, for the first time in his life, see qualities in himself that he so depended on and admired in his father. And I think that’s going to really help him grow even further because, I think, he’s never really felt that he’s been enough. And I think Kate is the person who’s showing him that he is. And I think he’s going to thrive.”"

Given Kate and Anthony were happily wed by the season’s end, having the pair start their family next season would be a perfectly natural progression for the pair. It would also allow us to see new sides of both characters and give the show the chance to explore the storyline in a more natural pacing thanks to Simone Ashley and Bailey’s returns in season 3.

Of course, the writers could look to hold off on exploring that specific storyline until a later season but Bailey’s remarks sure seem to hint a Kathony baby could be coming soon!
