We’ve given a complete rundown on what happened in the anticipated season 5 premiere.
Elite season 5 episode 1 recap
The first episode opens with Phillipe approaching Cayetana at his New Year’s Eve party at the Lake Club. He offers to buy Cayetana a drink in an effort to make things right with her. Cayetana is hesitant at first but accepts his offer. As they raise their glasses to take their first sip, the lights shut off. Then, a video of Elodie Finel (the woman Phillipe sexually assaulted) is projected on the wall, and she plays an incriminating voice message by Phillipe. Now everyone knows the horrible crime he committed.
The next scene cuts to Samuel, handcuffed in an interrogation room. A detective asks Samuel if his statement is true, and Samuel just stares at the detective. Then, we cut to a mystery guy face down in a pool with blood surrounding him. This will most likely be the central mystery that season 5 will focus on.
Who are the new characters in Elite season 5 episode 1?
We’re introduced to a new character named Isadora. She arrives in Madrid in her private helicopter. As she exits the helicopter, she has people waiting on her hand and foot. Viewers quickly realize that she’s wealthy. Then, we’re introduced to another new character named Iván. He’s the son of a famous soccer player. As Iván gets ready to go to school, he finds people all over the house and the place trashed. We’re able to infer that Iván’s dad isn’t really involved in his life and would rather party all the time.
Back at Las Encinas, Benjamín implements stricter rules for the school. Phillipe gets bullied by other students for what he did, and Samuel and Isadora step in to protect him. The principal intervenes and brings Phillipe, Isadora, and Samuel to his office. Phillipe asks Benjamín if he could talk to his parents so that he can go back to his home country. But Benjamín tells him that his parents refuse to send him back. Phillipe storms off and Isadora follows after him.
Did Samuel visit Ari in the hospital?
No, he did not. As Samuel is about to leave Benjamín’s office, Benjamín asks him a question. He asks Samuel why he didn’t visit Ari in the hospital. Then, Benjamín asks Samuel if he didn’t visit Ari because of Guzmán. Initially, Samuel says no before saying yes. Samuel tells Benjamín that Ari didn’t want to see him. Then, Benjamín tells Samuel that he needs to visit Ari and Samuel agrees.
Does Patrick like Iván?
We cut to Patrick meeting Iván at Las Encinas. Viewers can already tell that Patrick likes Iván based on their first interaction. They both shower at the same time, and Patrick stares at Iván while he showers. Iván notices Patrick’s leering and tells him he’s not gay. Still, they continue to flirt with each other.
Do Rebe and Mencía get back together in the Elite season 5 premiere?
In the season 5 premiere, Rebe and Mencía stay broken up. At the beginning of the episode, Rebe is about to send Mencía a voice message asking to meet but is interrupted. Later in the episode, Rebe finds Mencía sitting alone. They argue and Mencía tells Rebe that it’s her fault that Ari got hurt. Then, Mencía calls over security to get Rebe thrown out of the school.
Do Patrick and Omar get back together?
No, but they do sleep together occasionally. It looks like Patrick and Omar have a friends with benefits relationship. After sleeping together, they engage in pillow talk, and it’s revealed that Omar has been frustrated because Ander hasn’t been texting him back.
Do Samuel and Ari get together?
Yes! Samuel finally visits Ari at her house. He tells Ari that from now on, he will be there to support her and help get her back to some normalcy. Ari asks Samuel if he will be there for her as a friend. Samuel tells Ari he would like to be with her as a boyfriend. This confuses Ari, and she asks Samuel why he’s been avoiding her if he wants to be with her. She then realizes that Samuel had been avoiding her because he was scared that she would reject him. They embrace and then kiss.
Then, we cut to Rebe suggesting to Samuel that they should tell Mencía and Ari that Armando is dead to ease their minds. Samuel doesn’t get the chance to reply back since Omar interrupts their conversation. Next, we see Patrick and Mencía comfort Ari since she’s finally back at Las Encinas.
Later, Phillipe asks Cayetana if she can help him leave Madrid and return to his home country. He suggests that she tell the school about the incident in the limo (when he sexually assaulted Cayetana) so that he can get kicked out of the school. Isadora eavesdrops on the entire conversation. After Phillipe leaves, Isadora approaches Cayetana. Isadora tells Cayetana not to help Phillipe get kicked out of the school but instead support him. Meanwhile, Omar can’t even get a text back from Ander. Outside Las Encinas, Patrick and Iván bond over their neglectful fathers.
Has Armando been found?
No, the cops are still looking for him. Remember, Guzmán killed Armando with a firework gun and then dumped his body into the lake with the help of Samuel and Rebe in the season 4 finale. They are the only people who know of Armando’s whereabouts, but they made a pact to keep his murder a secret. In the season 5 premiere, the cops question Benjamín, Ari, and Mencía about Armando. They try to pin his disappearance on Patrick, but Mencía speaks up and says she will come clean. She ends up telling the cops that Armando sexually assaulted her. By coming clean, it takes the target off their family’s back.
Does Samuel confess to Benjamín about Armando’s disappearance?
No, but he wanted to. After Samuel sees Benjamín crying, he tells him that he’s there for him if he needs to talk. Then, we cut to Benjamín and Samuel in his office. Benjamín tells Samuel he fears Armando will come back and harm his daughters. Samuel tells Benjamín that he doesn’t have to worry about Armando because he’s not coming back. Benjamín doesn’t believe him, so Samuel reiterates that Armando is never coming back. Benjamín looks shocked by what Samuel is saying. It looks like Benjamín might suspect Samuel has something to do with Armando’s disappearance.
Next, we cut to Patrick and Iván arriving at Iván’s house. They walk into the home and see Iván’s dad throwing another party. Patrick and Iván head upstairs, and Iván tells Patrick that he’s about to take a nap. They begin removing each other’s clothes, and Iván flirts with Patrick again. Then, Iván smacks Patrick’s butt, which confuses Patrick even more about Iván’s intentions and sexuality. Iván falls asleep and Patrick goes to the restroom to pleasure himself.
Does Cayetana help Phillipe?
Yes, Cayetana helps Phillipe, but not in the way he wants. Cayetana makes a video and uploads it so it can play all around the school. In the video, she directly addresses Phillipe and tells him that he should stay in Madrid and work on being a better person. She also says that she’ll be right there beside him if he chooses to stay.
What happens in the last scene of Elite season 5 episode 1?
The last scene of the season 5 premiere cuts back to Samuel in the interrogation room. But this time, the scene plays out a little further. After the detective asks Samuel if his statement is true, Samuel says yes. Samuel then continues and says, “I killed him.” It’s unclear who Samuel is saying he killed, but it is likely the mystery guy shown earlier in the episode. However, Samuel could be lying to protect the real murderer or he could’ve actually killed somebody. We’ll find out later in the season.
