Is Carla in Elite season 5? (Is Ester Expósito returning?)

Netflix’s most scandalous and dramatic Spanish-language TV show is coming back for another season later this week, and fans cannot wait to get the return of Elite. The teen series follows high schoolers at Las Encinas with a major class divide, steamy relationships, betrayals, and even murders. Because the show takes place at school, many characters have come and gone as they get older and eventually graduate. Each season introduces us to new faces to keep us on our toes.

One of the most popular characters in Elite is Carla Rosón Caleruega, played by famous Spanish actress/model Ester Expósito. Carla is one of the wealthy students and one of the main characters as the show opens up in season 1, and we get to follow her love triangle with Polo (Álvaro Rico) and Christian (Miguel Herrán).

Carla has some serious ups and downs throughout the first three seasons of Elite, including bad relationships and a drug addiction. She’s a great character and fans can’t help but root for her through all of her experiences. Now that Elite season 5 is headed to Netflix this Friday, April 8, should we expect Carla to make an appearance? Here’s what we know.

Is Carla (Ester Expósito) in Elite season 5?

Fans will know that Carla has only appeared in Elite seasons 1 through 3, along with two of the Elite Short Stories specials that came out in 2021. Despite fans wishing she would return, Expósito was not in Elite season 4, and unfortunately, we don’t expect her to be in season 5, either.

Carla graduates from Las Encinas and decides to study in London by the end of season 3, and it is teased that she and Samuel (Itzan Escamilla) might get together again in season 4 or another time in the future. We get to see their relationship blossom in Elite Short Stories: Carla Samuel, and fans find the two really cute as a couple. Of course, this means fans are hoping Carla will appear in season 5 so she and Samuel can be together, but unfortunately, Expósito is not part of the cast list.

The confirmed Elite season 5 cast includes Escamilla, Omar Ayuso (Omar), Claudia Salas (Rebeka), Georgina Amorós (Cayetana), Carla Díaz (Ariadna), and other familiar faces. No one has reported that Expósito will be included.

Additionally, Expósito herself has denied rumors that she’ll be back for Elite season 5, according to The Panther Tech. “They say I’m coming back in season 5 of Elite but that’s not true. It’s called fake news,” she reportedly told PureBreak in 2021.

So there you have it. Although there’s a slight chance Expósito could make a surprise appearance in season 5, it’s not likely. That said, we have a bunch of other exciting characters and storylines to focus on next. We can’t wait!
