Captain Nova is a Dutch-language movie that was released in 2021 at the Cinekid Festival. It eventually received a theatrical release in theaters all across the Netherlands. Now the original movie is set to arrive on Netflix in all regions but the Netherlands on April 1.

It was directed by Maurice Trouwborst from a screenplay co-written by Trouwborst himself and Lotte Tabbers. Marouane Meftah, Kika van de Vijver, Anniek Pheifer, Hannah van Lunteren, Joep Vermolen, Pierre Bokma, Steef Cuijpers, Ricky Koole, and many others star in the science fiction movie.

Captain Nova synopsis

The story is about a fighter pilot named Nova who is forced to travel back in time on a mission to save the future from a devastating global disaster. But her mission becomes complicated when she crash lands in 2025 as her 12-year-old self, and no one takes her seriously other than a lonely boy named Nas. The two team up to save the future world.

The film is rated TV-14, meaning parents are strongly cautioned. It may not be suitable for children ages 14 and under. The main concern that parents may have about the film is the strong language used.
